Okay guys and gals, I am in a dilemma. Usually I make decisions quite well, but this one has me entangled.

I currently own a '94 NSX (white/black) 5-speed with 71,349 miles. There is a '97 NSX-T (silver/black) 6-speed with 107,000 miles for sale for about $33,000. Where I am stuck is which car would make more sense for someone who will track the car occasionally, but really will just be driving it around alot. What would you do in this situation? I am stuck. Please help...thank you. :)

You seem to have only one variable in your equation, tracking the car. An NSX coupe will be stiffer and thus handle better than the T on the track. If you only track occasionally, how bad could it really be? However, realize that some track do not allow open-top/convertible/t-top etc cars to race on the track as a safety regulation. It would be a shame to buy the car and not be able to track it.

Financing does not seem to be an issue, nor does the age/value/mileage difference between the two cars. Unfortunately, I doubt that any amount of advice will make this decision any easier, but what a wonderful quandry to find yourself in!!

Is there anyone near Roswell, Georgia that could look at it for me? I am in Indiana.

Why not trade the 91 for it?

You can use the 97 daily, high miles aren't going to hurt the resale and you get to enjoy the top and 6 speed. Keep the 94 for the track and you are golden.

Love the kaiser silver.

Don't dismiss the T because it's top is not solid. I think the only one that might benefit from a coupe on a race track would be Peter Cunningham, and by how small of a margin?

The only comparison I can think of, has been at a few of our Autocross's in normal NSX's(Not race cars like PD's) There have been 2 highly modified NSX's (BBK, SC's and DOT race tires) that have dominated most of the time. Until Bryan Selby showed up in his bone stock, factory tires NSX-T. Had there been about 10 minutes more of racing, he might have won. It was that close. Some may think they can drive the NSX to its full potential, however, never realizing the car is much more than any of us ever will know, myself included.
Good luck on your purchase,
John ;)

My '91 NSX has sentimental value to me, so I am going to keep it in the family and probably let my mother drive it. She loves that car and she will take care of it. :)

Anyone who has two NSXs, and is lusting after a third one, should just buy it. If two NSXs are not too many, then neither are three. :D
