My stock battery is shot, so it is time for an upgrade.

I am wondering what the best battery to use for the nsx is is you would like to save weight. I did the search and i see discussion about a hawker battery and also about an optima.

which one is best and where is the best place to buy it. I am confused about the optima. Is their more than one option. (red top,) which is the best choice for weekend car, that i am just trying to shed some unnecessary weight in the process.

thanks

you can also use an exide 840 i believe. i'm using it now. lighter and smaller than oem.

I prefer the Optima red-top. It is heavier than the Odyssey batteries, but lighter than comparable batteries, and does not fade quickly like the Odyssey. It's great that it is dry cell. The battery is available very inexpensive at Costco. We're working on a nice new billet clamp to retain it to the factory battery tray.

Cheers,

Lightest? I think the Odyssey 545 is one of them at 12lbs. You will also need to buy a mounting kit for it.

I have the PC925MJT (26lbs) and it seems to lose its charge if I don't drive my NSX for 3-4 weeks. So a battery tender would be a good idea.
