Hotel Opinion in L.A

Hi all,

Can anyone in the L.A area comment on the Wilshire Grand on Wilshire Blvd. Near the Los Angeles Convention Center. I'll be attending the Sema show on April 2 and may book this hotel.

I'd like to be close to the Bevely Hills area and close to the city center so any other recommendations are appreciated.

Try the Avalon hotel. It's right on the south edge of Beverly Hills and not too far from the convention center. Really nice contemporary renovation and great location.

I was actually pleased with the Hilton of Beverly Hills. Right smack in the middle of Beverly Hills near the Lambo and ferrari dealers...also on Wilshire.

I called the BH Hilton, it may be the one. How is the traffic on a friday to go from BH to the city. On map quest it's only around 12 miles or so but will it take me 45min - 1 hr to get there. I'm only there for 4 nights and don't want to waste it stuck in traffic.

Another question guys. Anyone know of a car rental place with good rates. I'll probably rent a Mercedes SL 500 or E55 (unless someone wants to lend me their NSX for a few days )but the rates I have found are very high. I've tried Budget Beverly hills and a few others.

I'd pick-up/drop-off at LAX.

Don't know much about renting exotics...but Enterprise usually has better prices for economy cars. I know they have an exotic division too, so you might want to try them. They can also pick you or the ca up.

Only place I've stayed in LA was The Biltmore in downtown. My sister was married there a few years ago. You might want to look into it, its really nice.
