"91" Purchase

I am new to the forum, however, have ease dropped for years on the forum. I have found a car that I might buy, and I guess I am searching for someone to talk me out of this.

The car was on ebay, I won the high bid. The car is located in New York and has about 94K miles. It is Blk on Blk with Auto. The thing is that Carfax shows a wreck in 95, which appears to be less than 1k in damages. The title is still clear, which I gather is rare with NSX'S if they have been involved in a wreck. The VIN is JH4NA1268MT002673.

The deal is that I fly from CA to NY on Tuesday (3/16) and get this car unless someone talks me out of it. I have always wanted an NSX, so I might be a little blind, please help.

I don't think you necessarily need to be talked out of it.

However, before getting on a plane, I think it would be a good idea to try to arrange for a knowledgeable local NSX owner and/or an experienced NSX mechanic to inspect the car to make sure it has been accurately represented in its auction description.

A minor accident does not change the status of the title. The only way a car gets a salvage title is if the car is totalled, which means enough damage that it cost a large percentage (75-80 percent, I think) of the value of the car to fix.

Good luck.

thanks for the reply. I was wondering also, how does this effect the resale on the car, when on carfax has a report of prior damage? Due to the fact that there are no pictures, or prior owner knowledge, one can only assume how much damage was done to the car. I guess I am just considering the worste case scenario. The car does look really clean in pictures, but we all now how that goes some times.
