okay........yes i ordered my 996TT beforei got the bbsc running right ..once i did get it runnig right we raced a customer 996TT with work to it and we smoked it ..by 1 car untilll 100 after 130 the 996TT flew by me ..but i did get the bbsc to put 420 hp perfectlly to the ground ..which is more than 996tt put down ..and the nsx is alot lighter ..but the porsche is a highway monster ..:D ......i got to go pick it up today ...

I am curious as to why the 911 would pass you after 130 MPH? Does the Supercharger become less effective at higher speeds? Why would the NSX fall off?

Also, WB, do you know what work was done to the 911? Would your BBSC smoke a stock 911 TT all the way up to 170 MPH+?

For one thing, his boost and therefore torque stays at max on every shift. The BBSC probably drops off a bit with the lower revs following a shift. Keep in mind that peak HP is only a rough predictor of performance. A typical well designed turbo with the same peak HP will have more area under the curve than a BBSC, which is to say more usable power on average. There may also be a significant gearing difference so you shift at different times.

Maybe I missed something here, but wouldn't gearing play an integral role on the highway? Kind of like how Supras are highway demons, etc. (of course the fact that they don't have to worry about traction in first gear is big too).

If I remember correctly the P-car has as much torque as HP and probably has it all thru most of the rpm shift band. Numbers we dream of and a SC can not compete with. Dan

It would be interesting if someone could do a lay-over of the dyno plot of the BBSC on the 3.2l and the modified P-car. Analyzing the area under the curve will be an obvious indicator.

I would just like to see a DYNO for the 911 TT.

I am familiar with the dyno's of all the NSX's except the turbo's.

As I recall from an earlier thread, although a BBSC makes more peak power than a Gruppe M, the Gruppe M has so much more power under the curve that it would crush the BBSC in a race.

I wonder how a Gruppe M would fair vs a porsche.

If you all recall the Car and Driver Supertuner shootout, the Comptech CTSC NSX turned in nearly an identical time to the 911 TT in the 1/4. I think the NSX's fastest run was actually 117 mph vs the P-cars 115.

Net Viper, I am not trying to be funny, But which 911TT are you talking about? All of them have different HP ratings.
What year dyno are you looking for?

More here.

Devins car is making a lot of power! Wow. Best chart I have seen for a BBSC. Way more TQ than your car Prova4re.

The 996 GT3 has A LOT of TQ. Wow.

Looking at the DYNO's, I would say a SC NSX should hang with a stock 996 Turbo. I would say the GT2 would smoke it though.

Devin's car has 35 more hp than mine, his is a 97 3.2 and has 20 more hp out of the box.
He has a IC and no cats.

He has only 43 more ft pounds of TQ than mine, I would not say that's way more.

Brian,
Those are some pretty good numbers... Just gota keep that sucker reved high around a track to keep in the good hp tq range.

But you need a few more for the 409/ 467 the GTS laid down bone stock... :p

Impressive torque curve for the 996TT
