Zymol vs Target Corporation

KILLINGWORTH, Conn./March 1, 2004 --- Zymol Enterprises, Inc. of Killingworth Connecticut (Zymol), the car care industry benchmark for expensive, superior quality products has filed a lawsuit in the Connecticut Superior Court for the Judicial District of Middlesex for relief against Target Corporation of Minneapolis, Minnesota (Target).

This lawsuit arises out of Target Corporation's creation and sale of an inferior product containing the zymol Federally Registered Trademark.

The lawsuit cites Federal Statutory Trademark Infringement, Federal Unfair Competition Under 15 U.S.C.A. §1125(a), Federal Trademark Dilution Under U.S.C.A. §1125(c), Unfair Competition Under Conn. Gen. Stat. §42a-110, et seq., Common-Law Trademark Infringement and willful and unauthorized use of the zymol Trademark.

C. E. Bennett, Zymol CEO and Founder, states "I'm appalled at Target's bravado and cavalier attitude toward our Federal Registered Trademark and our twenty years of hard earned good will."

What inferior product? Surely they're not talking about this:

Wrong link. The correct link is

The product pictured in the previous post can be found on the Zymol website here, so obviously it's not that product. According to the allegations in the press release, either Target is making and selling a different, unauthorized product under the Zymol name, or Target is making and selling their own (i.e. counterfeit) versions of existing Zymol products. I have no idea which product it is in reference to. But Target does not sell the Zymol products that are manufactured in Connecticut.
