Got smoked by a GT2. Was driving long distance on the highway when saw something coming pretty fast thru my rear view mirror. Itchified me, was tailing him for a while till got stuck behind some slow traffic. It was clear and we're side by side, decided to floor it and guess what? can't keep up with him. Same experience with a(n) SL55.......I NEED NOS!

Lol, why do you sound surprised? Did you really think you were going to keep up with a GT2?
:p

Don't feel too bad, I just got blown away by a Lamborghini today. Not sure what model that was...:D

It's the new SUV, meant to compete with the Cayanne...

No...that was the new prototype for the Gallardo replacement. :D

Okay, I'm confused.

I think most of us have a pretty good idea which cars are faster than which. Just like we know which cars cost more than which.

Leaving out ultra-low-production exotics like the McLaren, or cars that aren't available yet like the GT, there are just a handful of cars out there that are significantly faster than a new stock NSX, and most of us can name them off the top of our heads - Ferrari, Lamborghini, Viper, Z06, etc. And the one that is fastest of all of these is the Porsche GT2. It's got 477 hp, it weighs about the same as the NSX, and it costs more than twice as much as the NSX.

dlongo is right - why are you surprised?

I NEED NOS!

What you need is a better sense of perspective.

The supercharger would only have made him feel worse about the ass kicking...

Not a 6lbs unit, get the 9lbs unit, along with whatever Comptech parts the company equipped you with. And also take off some regular weight saving items like everyone else does, then you would be a good match.

Even with NOS, the gt2 would catch up to you easy.
Those guys felt the same way you feel when people in compact imports want to race you. Choose your opponets wisely.

I think a fully built up Comptech car (9 lb. SC, exhaust, headers, intake) would be a decent match with the GT2.

I have to agree with the pack here...the Porsche GT2 is a wonderfully powerful and amazing automobile.

I'd prefer a stock GT2 over a heavily-modded NSX.

JMHO.

I love my NSX in every way but if I had the $$$ I would have a GT2 or GT3 in my garage hands down.

The most comparable model to the nsx is the carrera. The more appropriate question is if you would trade your nsx for a carrera 2?

I wouldn't. I'd only consider giving up the NSX for a GT2, possibly a GT3. "Regular" Porsche 911s are just too damned common. What's worse is the popular practice of modifying a normal 911 to look like a more powerful/faster model. Must really irritate those who really spend the money to buy those upmarket models. *shrugs*

Don't forget, there are same strong TT's running huge #'s
I wouldn't trade a NSX for a C2, I would for a TT however!

They learn the same painful lesson the originator of this thread did.

DAMN!....So Sensitive!!!....Just having some fun here guys. I dont mind getting my ass smoked by faster cars or better drivers. At least I tried. Actually, I was hoping for him to floor the brake by mistake...UNLUCKY ME!

I don't think a 9lbs comptech SC would be a match for a GT2. That thing is hella-powerful. I think the only real competition would be a a GJ Turbo or FX500. Even then, I don't know if they could match the overall package the GT2 offers.

Still a 911 GT2 is $200 Grand..
Take the 04 NSX $90K.. FX500 $20K for for roughly half price you get a BAD ASS NSX with performance that honda should have given us a long time ago..

GT2

There is no question that most people if presented with a GT2 or NSX (modded) would take the GT2, but what is more likely is that a person purchases an NSX (at $90K or less), than modifies it later when they feel the need.

In asking the question would you take a 911 over an NSX. That is the question I will be answering shortly as I currently have a 2001 911 Carrera (slightly modded), and come June I will be switching to a 2004 NSX.
