Chance to participate in a Focus Group for the HSC / 2nd generation NSX

Due to the great response to the threads asking for input on <a href="http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30050">mechanical/chassis/DIY</a> and <a href="http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29500">accessory/interior</a> wishlist items for Honda, I have just been asked to help coordinate a focus group of NSX owners to give additional input during a focus group session at Honda's office in Torrance, CA. Honda will pay travel expenses for those outside SoCal.

This will cover all aspects of the car and "NSX owner lifestyle". It will include both folks from American Honda and some members of the NSX design team from Japan, similar to the <a href="http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20361">group who met with "drmanny" last summer</a> but will involve more NSX owners in a more traditional focus group setting.

Qualifications:
1. You must currently be an NSX owner
2. You must be willing to sign some serious non-disclosure agreements because you will see detailed information on the HSC / 2nd gen NSX and Honda will have a prototype at the focus group session for first-hand evaluation.


This is a great opportunity! If you are meet these criteria and are interested in participating, please <a href="http://www.nsxprime.com/feedback.htm">e-mail</a> me a brief (400 words max) letter describing why you would be a valuable member of this focus group. I will forward them to the person at Honda who is coordinating this event. I need these ASAP, before April 2 if possible because they are in a hurry to get this scheduled. If they do not get enough good responses through this route they will contact by mail/phone NSX owners in their database who bought their car new. Sorry for the short notice. Get to writing!

Well I'm sorry to announce that this was indeed one of the traditional NSX Prime April Fools jokes. I hope everybody who responded will take it in good humor. I certainly meant it all in good fun.

However, I have to say that after reading through all the responses, I think Honda should do this kind of owner focus group. Reading message after message I really got a feeling for just how strongly people care about the NSX, what it really means to so many people in so many ways, and how deeply people want the 2nd generation car to be a success.

Finally, just for the record, the two previous requests for input on the interior/accessory and mechanical/DIY issues were 100% legit and I was asked to solicit that information by someone I know at Honda who is involved in the NSX program. So I know Honda really does care about our input, and I hope someone at Honda will read this and consider actually pulling in a group of owners to provide input on the 2nd generation car.

I also hope I don't get beat up at the next NSX function I attend as a result of this little stunt!

I was so close to biting on this one, even though I knew it was April 1 and that Lud always does an April Fool’s gag. Lud, this was the best one so far! I wonder if we can come up with a list of all his April 1 gags?

The first one I can remember predates these forums and was about a divorced woman selling her ex-husband’s NSX for revenge: around $5k.

It is good reading through all the responses above because it shows how many true enthusiasts we have in our community.

Actually, this isn't really a joke. Honda DOES have a Product Planning team getting feedback on the HSC. They were at the SoCal NSX autocross on March 6.

Lud, you should forward all this stuff to the appropriate individuals. If, not I would like to forward all these posts to AHM with your permission.

Hi Wei-Shen, I know of the Product Planning team, that is who got the info from the previous interior/accessory and mechanical/DIY threads.

If someone from AHM reads this and decides they would like to review all the original responses and possibly contact people individually or put together a focus group, they can contact me <a href="http://www.nsxprime.com/feedback.htm">here</a>. I think it would be a great idea. I just do not want to flood them with unsolicited information.

I actually spent a lot of time editing/revising my letter to the Focus Group. I even told my wife about it, and asked her if I could be away for the Focus Group trip, if I were to be chosen

I did not even know that people still practice April Fool's joke. That was a really really good one.
