Trunk CD? connectors on Left Side

I took out my trunk carpet to clean it last week. I noticed a pair of unused connectors on the left rear under the carpet. One looks like a 13-pin changer connector and the other is maybe a 6 conductor power or speaker connector, taped together with the antenna control wire and clearly never used. The car is a stock 2000 x, so this is not aftermarket. It has the stock changer mounted on the right, but as it skips so much, i am looking at options. Does anyone know what the connectors on the left rear are for? Dan

It was probably installed improperly, and should work fine (without skipping) if re-installed. Look in the FAQ (under Troubleshooting - Sound System) for details.

There's one connector for the changer and one for the phone.

Has that phone still been an option on new NSXs in recent years? Talk about outdated technology!

There is an adjustment that needs to be in a curtain position when mounting the changer vertically. If not done correctly, the CD Changer can skip frequently.

See http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/DIY/Alpine-S634.pdf and check out step 4 starting at the bottom of page 3. Even though this PDF is the instructions for mounting the Alpine equivalent Changer, I believe the adjustment is the same for the factory unit.

Check yours. It could have changed or was not done when installed.

Question

NSX1,

I have a 1991 NSX, is that PDF file about installing a CD changer also for my car?

Thanks.

Thanks

NSX1,

Thanks for helping me out. Maybe you know something about the door speakers which doesn't work in my car. I've read some threads and info on NSXPrime, but there are so many different answers such as repairing yourself, shipping to Bose in the USA, buying new parts, etc.

Do you have the ultimate solution?

Thanks.

DutchNSX :)
