Rear Spoiler question.

Got any other pic's with a view of the wing deck? If not I would say no, the angle and radius look different IMO

No this is the only pic I ever saw of this car.

looks like a mini trunk spoiler stuck on top of stock spoiler..

It's a BMW M3 lip spoiler. You can buy them for a few bucks off ebay. :)

The one under the stock spoiler is the mini spiler on the 02+ NSX. The one on top of the stock spoiler is a BMW E46 M3 spoiler. You need to get the E46 M3 one as it is the closest to the 46" NSX spoiler. I have both the mini NSX and E46 lip. When you straighten out the M3 lip on the NSX spoiler it will over hand a few mm on each side. I had to shave mine down to get that perfect fit.

Edit note. I had a typo and meant to say E46 is the closest match to the stock NSX spoiler length.

It is the E46 that is 46". The NSX spoiler is exactly 46" long, however, it is not as curved as the E46 M3 lip, so when you straighten out the E46 M3 lip to match the NSX contour the lip will grow and be a little longer on each end. I used my Dremel with sanding drum to trim down the edges of the lip to match the NSX width. Otherwise it will either overhang a bit, or it will curve in too much and not follow the NSX edge line if you don't straighten it out.

There is also this one made for the IS300. It measures 45 1/2". However, if it is the same contour as the other M3 lips then it will gorw a little as you straighten it out. I'm not sure it will make it to the full 46", but it might get real close and you don't have to trim or live with the overhang. In fact, now that I see this one I may get it myself and see if it fits better than the original E46 one I got.

Chris can you post better pics of these spoilers on your car? In your other thread with your pics, I didn't see the M3 spoiler. Car looks great, love the system. Thanks

Sorry, I don't actually have it mounted yet. I'm waiting for a spare spoiler so the M3 lip can be molded to the NSX spoiler for a seemless look. However, I didn't want to modidy my orginal spoiler so I'm working out a deal with someone for one that he is selling.

Is there really any advantage to putting that little lip on top of the spoiler? I can see the advantage of the one on top of the tunk itself (as in the '02 + cars) but puttling a thin little lip spoiler on top of another plastic spoiler just doesn't seem like it would actually add much, if any, downforce.

Appearance, of course, is subjective.
