Help me pick

OK deciding between the SSR GT1 17 18 set up or the OZ Supers 17 18 set up.

SSR GT1

I personally like the SSR GT1's better than the OZ's.

GT1's all the way!

- they are stronger
- they look racier (in my opinion)
- they clear a Brembo kit in case you decide you want one later
- they are easier to clean

Just a few reasons :D

Got to go with the Supraleggras. Much prefer the multispoke design. I have never been able to get excited about these SSR's.

No Brainer

GT-1's. Not even close.

Obviously the above is a personal opinion, and not aimed at making opposite views look stupid.

GT-1 for sure... the OZ Super is a nice wheel, but on the X... get the GT-1's

i would honestly say neither. Both wheels are kind of "played out" if you will. Try to find a more unique/rare wheel that not many people use. And above all, you have an NSX which with the offsets allows you to get some lip action. Take advantage of that!!!! :D

isn't there an SSR model that looks similar but with a multi-piece setup; to allow for some major lip? but if its between those two; i'd definetly say the SSR as well.....

I believe there is the GT3's (a little common, but very nice still) and the Comps which i believe give you some lip action. I'm just gonig off the top of my head, so I could be mistaken.

Here is my answer. :D

I honestly think both wheels are insane looking. IMO multi spoke wheels look more exotic. But lets face it, it's all your own taste.

BTW - the OZ you have pictured is the old gunmetal wheel, not the new bright silver

Not if stregnth, BBK fitment space and ease of cleaning are important. ;) But for looks preference, I agree. :D

Here is my X and Kevins at RA.

I have to disagree with the above. In fact the NSXs have such outward calipers that it is not easy at all to find wheels that have big lips. If you have BBK, you can forget about the lips. That is why you mostly see NSXs with wheels that have no or very shallow lips just to clear the calipers.
In this case, I will vote for the GT1 since it is SSF, and the OZ is casted and heavier. I have Volk LE37K which looks kind of like the OZ but much lighter due to true forging. But then this is not what Rsindc is asking.

Steve,

About the OZ's, from what I recall the Superleggera's were pretty light, perhaps even lighter than some of the forged wheels.

Some drifters in Japan actually use the cast wheels instead of the forged wheels because they are stronger, the Work Emotion wheel comes to mind.

Volk GT-C's have a nice lip, and they clear Brembo's and wilwoods with no spacers. I think they require a 3mm spacer for the Stoptech's. See this thread

I just weighed my SSRs with the Toyo RA1s.

17x8--235-40-17 = 38lbs
17x9--275-40-17 = 44lbs

I'm sure someone here can come up with the exact weight, however I have to say my OZ Superleggeras are pretty darn light. I'm almost positive they are in the top 5 lightest wheels out for the NSX.
Yes, they're very light. 15.9 lbs for a 17X8. The GT-1's are 17.8lbs for a 17X8.

If that is the case, then I really worry about the strength of the OZs. With the inherent lower relative strength of cast aluminum to forged, a cast wheel in general needs more material than a forged one to achieve the given integrity.

I should have specified the fronts. If you look at the front wheels, there are actually no lips at all.
