This week, finally, my NSX repair-project has officially started !!
The parts I will need will be picked up this week and next and be delivered to the place where my NSX has resided since my crash last September.
Hopefully, in about two months time, the car will be back on the road in tip-top shape.
The wait has been long but I hope it will have been worth it in the end.
Can't wait to be back behind the wheel again :)
This is what the car still looks like at this moment. Not a very pretty sight I must admit.

wow.. looks like you were smacked from the rear. How do you intend on straightening out the frame?

just curious.

good luck to ya!

I crashed the car when I spinned it at Spa, entirely my own fault (and my own expense also unfortunately).
The repair-shop is very confident they will be able to straighten the rear-beams. The rear and bottom of the trunk will be completely replaced with new parts.

Yes it would, but I don't like most bodykits. I would like to get the car back to standard (well most of it that is). But I got my hands on some good second-hand parts that will be used.

Hi MvM,

I wonder if you have the part number for the European version of the 02 rear valence. I am very interested in get one for my car, thanks.

HI EK4 hatchback,

The partnumber I have for the European 2002 Lower Valence is 71511-SL0-G00ZZ.
The old model (pre-2002) is: 71502-SL0-G00ZZ.

Thanks for the part number. Now i will try if i can source it locally in HK......

EK4 hatchback:
Good luck with your search. Should not be too difficult I think. But remember that the part will need painting as well !

Gheba:
I will definately keep everyone updated on my progress. So far, everything seems to going OK. No set-backs thusfar. But then again, I am still collecting parts ;)

Good luck Maarten.

If you need any info or help, let me know.

Mich

Hey Marteen
How are you doing?
Those pic's don't look that bad at all.
Keep us updated on your progress.
Later Brian.

I hope you are back to 100%. We would like to see the progress of the repair. Take care!

Simon

Yesterday I visited the shop that is doing the repair to bring some parts. So far, they have removed the old trunk and just have the new trunk-parts in. Below is a picture of the rear of the car as it looks right now. You can see how the chassis-bars have been bent up to the first traverse.

Another shot of the right chassis-bar, showing how much it is dented. Still, considering the (unknown) speed with which we hit the tire-walls the damage to these bars seems not even that severe.

A picture of the new trunk-bottom and the new rear-end for the car. I didn't have a scale to weigh these parts, but they are very light. Lighter in any case than those heavy-weight air-intakes :)

I second that Michael, the before and after pictures are the best. I still waiting for the body shop to email me all the pics of my car as well! I think that we should have an official project NSX like all the car magazines do... We could do a one step per month and record everything! before and after dyno graph, body pics and other interesting tid-bits!!
