What do you think of this '92 for sale?

I'm new to this board and have to say it's very impressive. I found this ad on cars.com and wanted some input. I've always wanted an NSX (I had a '91 MR2 but sold it 3 yrs ago to buy my house) and figure that I'm not getting any younger. I turn 35 in February. So no time like the present for a mid-life crisis, right? This seems like a reasonable price for a damn nice car and it sounds like they could be talked down a bit too.

It looks like a great deal.

I am a little confused about this part though.

"The transmission is inside the snap ring range; however, they replaced the ring for me when I first time replaced the clutch at dealership. "

I thought there was a little more involved than that. I could be wrong. Most dealerships do not good will that either or replace it before it breaks.

The upper transmission case needs to be replaced along with the snap ring, or it can just happen again.

Many dealers were offering snap ring repairs as goodwill in the first few years after the warranty expired.

interesting... thanks for the replies. After running this idea by my wife last night and reviewing our finances it looks like I can't act on this for 6-8 weeks anyway. I really like the black on black though... but it seems like the snap ring issue is of major importance.

This looks strange to me. I looked at the pictures and the interior looks way to good for a car with 92K miles, look at the seat bolster. Also these pictures look very similiar to the Automatic that Naples Motorsports had last summer, which only had like 8K miles on it BTW. Take a look at www.naplesmotorsports.com. The background is the same.

This looks like a scam to me.

It does look suspicious, I'm thinking I'm going to let this one go. I have to do some financial things here for 6-8 wks before I can move on a car anyway. So at that time I'm going to start monitoring the NSX for sale forum on this site. There are some really good looking cars on it right now that seem to be clean, and well documented. Damn I want one of these cars!

NO1ZX6R... I am planning on selling my NSX for near 30k, a Black/Black 91 5spd with 52k on it and many upgrades. (all records and not a snap ring range car) PM me if your interested!:D

I'll keep it in mind but it's probably too much, I probably have to stay below$24k so I'll have to go w/a higher mileage car. BTW, I'm so envious of your garage. Damn

I'm selling my Red 92 for $26K or best offer. I have it listed in the forsale section.

I've started my search for an early model black on black. What upgrades do you have on it and where are you located?
