Why were Mark Johnson/Dali threads in Vendor section closed?

I have asked the same question before and I will ask again. Apparently, when Dali/Mark Johnson gets complaints again from people, the threads get closed. This time Mark reportedly stole from Guus, lo and behold, the thread got closed. Now just minutes earlier, there was this "Unbelievable" thread being closed just after 3 posts. It seems that there is an effort to silent disgruntled members, Mark's ripped off victims, and people who voice their opinions on the subject.

Any bets how long this thread will last?

The big threads were closed because they deteriorated into nothing more than members attacking each other. No new information about the vendor in question was being added.

I gave those two threads far more latitude than usual. As a result I had the pleasure of blackcat and dnyhof attempting to drag me into the issue with posts that I felt were barely short of slanderous to me personally as well as the NSXCA leadership, implying that if we didn't get involved it was probably because of some "relationship" with Dali. But again I was trying to allow more latitude so I let it go without even a comment. Then there were a number of totally irrelevant posts, but again I let them go. There were also several posts by people suggesting the thread be closed, but AGAIN I was trying to give more latitude so I let it continue.

Yet still some people obviously cannot have a reasonable discussion, and the whole thing continued to deteriorate into member-vs-member arguments. In the end one member ended up being suspended for posting something obscene (which I have since removed). Trust me, I learned my lesson and will not allow that kind of latitude in the future. You can look for such threads to be moderated much more closely to only allow people to report their vendor experiences.

The new thread was closed because it also contained no new information, it was just a "told you so" message posted as a new thread because the thread the poster wanted to reply to was closed. I don't have much patience with people starting new threads to continue arguments from a closed thread. I thought about simply removing it, but I knew someone, somewhere would complain they were being "silenced" so I decided to leave it and just close it. Again it contained no NEW information, it was just a continuation of the member-vs-member arguments from the other threads.

If anyone has NEW, FIRST-HAND experiences to report about their dealing with Dali or any vendor, they are welcome to report it and that information has NEVER been removed. If people are just looking to continue to re-hash the same things and argue with each other, too bad, this is not the place.

And AGAIN I am offended by the suggestion that anyone is being "silenced" from reporting their experiences with any vendor. NO SUCH MESSAGE HAS EVER BEEN REMOVED FROM THIS SYSTEM REGARDING ANY FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE WITH ANY VENDOR. PERIOD. I think if you look at the facts I think the idea is really laughable. If I were really trying to "silence" anybody I'd say I'm doing a terribly job since one of the threads ran for 2.5 YEARS with over 170 posts.

P.S. Sig - This is not the forum to discuss your opinion of a vendor. This forum is for site operations.

this one is still alive.
Not at all. This is one of the threads closed that prompted my question.
But anyway, Lud's reason makes sense and I apologize to Lud for making the wrong assumptions and conjecture. I have Pmed Lud for this.

Steve

If it is really closed then why can I still open and read it?

A closed thread can still be viewed, but it can no longer replied to. It is "closed" to new replies but still open to viewing.

Then deal with the members directly....an umpire shouldn't call a game just because two or three players aren't getting along....toss them out but don't close a thread where there is a CONTINUINENCE of problems…the thread should not be closed until ALL parties receive their products or refund.

P.S. Besides, we don’t want to have an excuse of “OH I tried to post my side but wouldn’t you know the threads were closed."
