Contemplating an NSX

Greetings,

I must say I've visited this site almost everyday to check on the NSXs for sale, before deciding to finally become a member!

I'm thinking about unloading my boat for an early NSX, but reading and researching on the NSX only goes so far. I know there is another gentleman asking the same favor that I'm going to, so I apologize if my request is perhaps crazy to ask.

If anyone would let me see up close and personal their NSX, it would be greatly appreciated. I thought about going to a dealer to check one out, but figured that's probably a bad idea. Instead, I would really like to talk to an enthusiast, someone who can show me everything about the car. If someone could give me ride that would be cool too, but of course not expected.

Just a little background on me, I've had hotrods and showcars (Saleens, built-5.0's, Chevelles, etc.) all my life, so I know what it's like to respect other peoples' property :)

I live in the Joliet, IL area, so if anybody could help me out, that'd be great. I'll pay your gas for your trouble, and heck, I may even throw in lunch! Convince me to sell my boat!

Regards,
Sean Williams

A few people venture down to the Joliet Sports Car Club's autocrosses down there so you could probably catch one there with minimal effort. I am planning on heading down there when I get a free weekend and can coordinate the scheduleing.

Very cool,

I go to those too at JJC every once in a while. My buddies and I are thinking about maybe running our cars this year. Currently I have a '99 Prelude, and I like to pretend it's my baby NSX!

If you plan on attending, definitely let me know.

Sean

Sean, you could kill 2 birds with one stone, by visiting me at The Last Detail . I am an enthusiast, owner, and the MW rep for The NSXCA. I currently have a 91, and a 92 for sale, both with low miles, and both extremely nice!!

Look me up!! :D

Another option is to come to one of the events that CGI Motorsports holds on many Mondays at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven. There are always a few NSXs there, and people would be happy to let you take a drive (on the street) as well as give you a ride (on the track).

I'm just north of the city and you're welcome to check out mine. My schedule is fairly hectic through the end of this month, but after that I'd be happy to get together with you, maybe for lunch.

NSX contemplation

if you find an NSX in the Detroit area...I would be happy to look for one...

I recently purchased a 1991 NSX with only 5,500 miles on it in California...I looked at many others...so I kind of became a mini expert on looking at them...generally most NSXs owner keep good care of them...but there are a few that have passed multiple owners and lose their upkeep...so be careful!

Thanks for everyone's input, and especially to wswen for letting me check out his NSX. I'm convinced. My boat went up for sale, and I'll officially be in the market for an NSX. Mystican, I'll take you up on you offer if I find one in your area!

I am in Indiana...so if you need help checking one out, I think it is safe to say by now that I have logged enough time behind the wheel of an NSX to be able to spot if a car is good or bad. Oh yeah....if you are in the area, stop on by and check out my cars. We can go for a spin in either one, just pick which transmission you like. :D
