I just got my car back from Bacsh complete with 105k service, BBSC and Defi gauges.

What should my temps and pressures be at and what should I set my warnings at?

Sensors Readings:
Fuel Press ~40psi
Oil Press ~30-90psi
Oil Temp ~184 (i think)
Water Temp ~134 (i think)
EGT Front 700-1370 f (EGT sensors are install at the collectors)
EGT Rear 700-1370 f

Sure!!!! Here you go...

(Chris from SOS sent me the pic before it was put in) I'll take more pics tonight with them on.

Sorry, I can't answer your question, but I would like to see some pics of the guage install if possible.

Yes, stock fuel pump with all the readings after a good run from 2nd-4th gear to a stop (about 30-130-0mph)

EDIT: Should I consider upgrading the fuel pump?

Is that the fuel pressure with the stock fuel pump at idle?

For a couple hundred dollars a fresh fuel pump is good insurance against running lean at RPM. I might be wrong but that fuel pressure you posted seems a bit low.

They turn the displays off...I didn't think I'd need them but if the car is not started the oil presssure warning comes on with an annoying deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sound

What are the 2 switches mountd below the Defi-Link dispaly used for?

can you see the dual spa gauge in the coin tray like that? mine is in the ashtray and it is hard to see because it doesnt point directly at the driver and the numbers dont show up.

During the day I can read them perfectly...at night when the backlight is on (you can select between red or green BTW) It does get a little difficult to read...I should note that I really only pay attention to the peaks (hold the red button) but you can set the warnings so the led blinks (above the temp display) see here:

Nice display; where did you mount the Control Unit?
Do you need regular access to the control unit or can it be tucked away somewhere, e.g. glove box

Can't you define alarm settings; ie, no alarm for low oil pressure in order to avoid the need for on-off switches?

if you look at the picture with the EGT gauge you'll see in the very upper left hand corner two white parallel lines...those are actually double sided tape to hold the control unit. Where is sits compared to me in the seat is to the right of my knee; slightly higher. It can be tucked into the glove compartment but i'm sure you'll spend a lot of time running wires through the center console up and around the dash to get into the glove box

I didn't see a "no alarm" setting for the oil pressure..i did try setting the warning at 0 psi but @ 0 psi with the engine off the alarm stilll went off....personally I wouldn't want a "no alarm" since my whole reason for a gauge setup would be for feedback I would want my attention to be drawn to a possible critical situation.

EDIT: You don't need regualr access to the control unit...however I find myself replaying the peak settings and toying with the warning levels...Convenient but not necessary

Thanks for the info; The defi display seems like the answer. It allows numerous gauges in one compact package.

A few more questions if you do not mind....

1. I assume you got the SPA EGT dual gauge because you wanted to monitor both banks and the Defi display will only give you one. Could a switch be used to toggle between two egt sensors on the Defi?

2. Can the display be programed to cycle through all the readings or do you have to manual change screens with the control unit or display inputs?

3. Are you turbo or SC; will the defi boost range be narrow enough for a 6-8 lb SC?

4. Do you have a A/F wideband gauge/display?

Thanks

A fuel pressure reading of 40 psi with the engine idling sounds correct. Recall that the fuel pressure regulator maintains constant pressure across the fuel injector, so the reference point is the intake manifold pressure. With the engine idling and 10 psi of vacuum in the manifold (ie. -10 psig), the pressure acrosss the injector is 50 psi which is correct for the stock NSX.

Whether or not you need a new fuel pump can only be determined by measuring the fuel pressure during maximum boost and maximum fuel flow (typically close to 8000 rpm).

1: You are correct. Per Chris at SOS a switch could not be used.

2: While driving it displays two readings, although you can have it display only one. While at a stop light it will scroll through the peaks for each of the sensors. I haven't been though the manual to see if it will scroll through all sensor readings. BTW you select what you want to display ON the Defi Display

3: I'm SC runing 6lbs....I've got the waring to set to 6.2 lbs The needle goes just under the 0.5 mark on the boost gauge

4: No wideband...although I need to source one for tuning...this is probably the one the thing i SHOULD have installed first. I'm thinking I'll put one in the ash tray

I will likely use the ash tray for the Defi Display, and the NavPod for Wideband, boost, and ?EGT

Too many decisions...now the next one is which wideband; it standing consensus seems to be FJO vs LM1. The next question is do I need a gauge or is logging via an AEM adequate....Dual vs single channel.....

It would be sooooo much simpler someone made a display system (LCD screen) to monitor all vitals similar to modern aircraft cockpits

PS....just saw your "Broke my toy" thread...sorry to hear it. My BBSC is making more nervous by the day, despite all the precautions...wideband, gauges, upgrade fuel system, AEM...

If you go with the new 2 1/16 fjo display I would put it in the ashtray and keep the ashtray lid functional. The red, yellow and green lights are very bright and constantly flipping around. They are very distracting for regular everyday driving, especially at night. Best to be able to close the lid when monitoring is not a priority. Up on the nav pod , it will drive you crazy

You can also consider the AEM UEGO wideband.

I considered it, and know it can be done. Heck, I thought it was WOODY who was already doing it?

I decided to get the SOS center console w/ash tray delete. Along with my aftermarket Alpine, I am able to fit two SPA duals, the AEM UEGO display and a Blitz boost controller.
