Satelite Radio

Works great, I love it.
Had problem's finding a place to mount that stupid antena, so it would look good.
People have hacked it, but not me.

Ok Ill bite, where did you put the antenna?

Armando

I mounted it in the nav pod, behind the tv so you cant see it.

I have XM in 3 cars and 1 boat. Once you get hooked on ESPN Radio and XM Comedy, you'll never go back to FM again. I've had XM since Sept 02, and I've owned the stock since then also.

I use the XM Roady by Delphi with a wireless adapter in my NSX - it is a small unit that plays thru 1 of 8 FM stations without the need for a cassette adapter. I use this because I like to move it around between vehicles and it is easy because nothing is permanently installed. I have the small antenna on the dash up in the corner of the windshield on the passenger side - that way no one can rip it off like an external antenna. No problems at all with reception and the sound, while not as good as an installed unit, sounds pretty good for an FM modulated unit.

Agreed, I have it, love it and could not go back without it. One of the best purchases ever! Gotta love Bluesville, exit 74 on my XM highway!

Thanks for the idea!!! I currently have mine mounted elsewhere and experience loss of signal more often than I would like.
I too didn't want to mess up the flow of the lines of the car so mounting it outside was never a consideration.
Do you ever lose signal with it mounted in there?

It has never lost a signal yet..........from the hoist its sitting on. :D
I have not drove around yet, to see how well it works. :(

I can't get a signal with the car sitting in the garage but do as soon as I pull it out.
Please keep me updated on your reception. I think I'm still going to put it where you did though.

hey brian, any day now eh? is that antenna inside the pod or attach to the outside on the windshield side of the pod? is it a small square antenna or a baby whip style?
thanks,
woody

Woody,
I know you were talking to Brian but I just wanted to say that I put my small square one inside the pod and it works great !!!

Hey Woody
Its ALIVE!!! :D
I should have it back later today, the antenna is the small square one.
Located inside the pod, so you can't see it.
Hope yours is done soon.

92, glad to hear that yours is working well.

Has anyone heard of software that I could load into my onboard computer so i could control the xm stations with the touchscreen and eliminate another gizmo on the console or in the glove box?

The company in Florida that repaired my Bose speakers said XM now has an adapter that goes inline from your CD player so you get 100% digital sound. Anybody else hear of this?

Really ???
What is the name of the company? I would love some better sound quality out of it. FM modulator just doesn't sound to good. :(
When you say inline from CD player, I assume mean CD changer?

Sorry you are right,It is suppose to go in line with the changer. This is where I got my speakers repaired , www.SoundRepair.com 888-615-9700 and I talked to a gentelman named Zack. He might be able to answer any further questions. I think it is a XM radio part but I am not sure.

woody, i think you'll need an XM tuner that is specifically designed to work with a PC. i know they exist, and i know that some of the in car front end designers are working on implementing XM functionality that will work with these pc based units.

Yesterday I bought a new SUV to replace my current SUV. The new SUV has XM but my girlfriend said she doesn't want to hook it up. If I were on the road as much as she is I think I would hook it up.

Hook it up and give it a try, most have a 30 day listen option, can't get hurt trying it out?

i picked up the kenwood here 2 go sirius system for the stang awhile back. i love all of the stations, but my town has lots of old growth trees, and i lose signal CONSTANTLY!
Do y'all think this is related to it being sirius or just geographic location? (i live deep in the west coast, so maybe my angle to the satellite makes it more vulnerable than elsewhere)

I just picked up the XM Roady kit. It came with the cassette, FM modulator, and home antenae kit for $127 at the kiosk at the mall. The activation fee is only $10.00 and the monthly fee is $9.00.

This is an excellent deal!

i wouldn't be so quick to go with the fm modulator setup. if you have a local station using either of your two freq. options (usually 88.7 or 89.1 i think) than you're going to get interference.
I finally tore my modulator out and just got a new deck with aux inputs, and now its crystal clear
