For me... The A cut off point for my physics lab is 95% and I got a 94.4% and thus a B... If it's a clear B than fine but a 94.4=B??? :( And this ruined my perfect running record of 40+ hours of A (4.0) I'm sure it'll take well over several months for me to get pass it. AHHHH!!! Mother F&#@$%)@()$#*@!)#!!!!1!11

Just had to vent. We now return to our regular programming. :(

PS: Any thoughts on how I can word my email to the instructor to hopefully nudge it up to an A...?

I send out emails to the instructor and the head professor hoping to over turn this. And to think that only if I didn't forgot to put in a few units on a report I might just got an A... Or if only I didn't make that little careless calculation error... :(

That Ain't Nothin'

Despite a perfect 100% on the final exam in advanced calculus, my test scores averaged one point shy of an "A", resulting in a "B". No "A-" no "B+", but a "B". You would think that ace-ing the final exam would earn me the benefit of the doubt to help my overall grade point average. :(

Been there too

My last quarter of undergraduate, and I have not made a B in 3 years (9 quarters), and I get a 92.4 in one of my Ag classes. I talk to the prof, trying to sweet talk him, then give him the pity party story. Finally he says to me "You got into Vet School, what difference does this one grade make now?" Aaarrrggghhhhh!!!!!

Currently I am pissed off about my workload...I'm working/consulting on 3 major IT projects at once and they are all requiring too much of my time. So I'm having to bust my ass a little and beat everyone's estimates just to make certain deadlines. Makes me look good and I like the pressure but it's not good to overperform your co-workers. So I guess I'm more pissed about big corporation political BS that I have to deal with.

Hey Satan, does this mean hell is upgrading to Windows 2003 Server from a hybrid network??? :D
I guess hell has it's corporate red-tape as well; the workload must be torture.
I guess your co-workers tell you to "go to hell" quite frequently then? :p

ok... i've tried being funny enough. :D

Wife's company punishes overachievers

What's pissing me off right now is the fact that my wife's employer apparently believes in punishing over-achievers.
Last year she surpassed her goals by a handy 25% or so and received 5 different awards at the annual meeting, got to sit with the big cheeses and received a nice bonus.
This year her goals have been set about 40% ahead of last year (which was a banner year) making them unobtainable. She gives everything she has to this company - always giving up days off and going the extra mile(s) and so on so I HATE to see her so frustrated plus, of course, the bonus (which she has no chance of making this year) is about $20K so losing that really sucks.
I HATE her employer - she deserves better - unfortunately (!) she is very well compensated and doesn't think she could earn the same salary elsewhere. Arrrgh!

On the other side of that I work for an employer that has been downsizing for the last year and a half. So its like your walking on egg shells all the time. Every two months they come along and lay off several thousand people. They hang this proverbial carrot out so that you work 80 hour weeks, kiss everyones A$$ and do whatever necessary so as not to make waves and be the next to get the axe. The last year has been tough dealing with the possibility of losing your job every few weeks as they outsource more and more IT jobs overseas.

Jobs are scarce in the area I live in. Bringing attention to yourself isnt a good thing at this point.

So, Im pissed off i have to constantly worry about whether i will have a job day to day much less whether i should make certain purchases as i try to plan for what seems inevitable at some point.

dude....if that's the cutoff point for an A, that sounds like an easy class hahahah. Sorry to hear it nonetheless. email and ask, can't hurt right?

what's pissing me off? 18000 emails of which 99% are spam and it's preventing me from being able to do any work.

Haha no I don't work on the server/mainframe side of IT, it's relationship management and consulting between the lines of business and the supporting IT application teams for a big-ass financial (insurance, investments etc). Defining requirements, managing projects and implementations. Blah.

Nah most of the people I work with are like 35-45 year old ladies..I think they want me to date their daughters instead...

..well that's what I think should happen anyway.

Anyone whoworks that hard should work for themselves. Why make someone else rich with all that effort?

Ah... theres another thing about it... They curve the grade per lab session so while some classes' cut off point might be a 95% (like my lab seesion) the others could be 85%... My physics class's average is in the 50s, I have a 100+ average... what's pissing me off it that some people with a 60 average in the physics class can earn an A with a low 80s in the lab while I'm stuck with a 94.4% B... :(

What's pissing me off is all the clatter in the background (wife wants this, kids want that) when I'm trying to concentrate and get through all the new posts on Prime! :D

Funny you should mention that - it is the same advice I received from a friend just a week or so ago regarding her situation.
Unfortunately, been there, done that, burned the t-shirt. I won't go into details on such a public forum but let's say she now works for the 600lb gorilla of her industry after having run her own business and sold at just the right time.

What's pissing me off is not the fact that I am underpaid, it's that I know I am !

ignorance is bliss...

What's pissing me off is that Polyphony Digital hasn't released GT4...and they keep teasing us with all of this great footage, sampler discs like Prologue, and playable kiosks at E3.

Sounds pretty ridiculous, eh? :p

Seriously, spam and Spyware REALLY piss me off. My filters still miss a ton of junk e-mail. I get a few hundred bogus messages every day at my work e-mail account and, for some reason, my yahoo account received over 800 messages yesterday (fortunately, most were automatically recognized as spam and sent directly to my bulk folder). And if I don't run anti-Spyware software every couple of weeks, my machine slows to a crawl.

What's pissing me off is..........

Actually, it is more repetitious than anything else - another "has Dali Racing given you a hug today?" thread.

you !!!! LOL

After pestering the instructor with emails after emails it was determined that the instructor made an mistake and the cut off point is really at 89% (some adjustments were made that I didn't know of so it's really 89 not 95) and I really have 95+% because the instructor didn't record a homework grade of mine... so in the end I got an A... :D

A couple of things

- my NSX has been in "modification mode" for almost a year now and I still haven't gotten it out on the track.
- the Lakers.
- my wife's employer, MCI.
- one of my magazines is suffering from the Senate not passing a comprehensive energy bill.
- the shadow of my ass weighing twenty pounds.
- the emergence of ear hair. "What the...is that?!!"

Other than that, I'm peachy. Life is good.
