Car wash machine broke my mirror!

Just kidding.... i wanted to see how fast someone would jump on "OMG you ran your x through a car wash!"

feel free to delete... I was at the car wash yesterday to wash a different car and was wondering how insane of a thought it would be to run the nsx through the local shell car wash.

I have never put any car I have owned through an automatic car wash. POS or NSX they just cause to much damage and don't do a very good job.

What's wrong with a touchless wash, other than it doesn't do a great job?

When I was new to nsx ownership,96,(I was visiting friends in Vermont,the car was super dirty)I inquired from the owner of a auto car wash about the car and he told me of local nsx owner who brought his nsx in weekly!Ok I said put her through,well we get out the other end and the car is clean but my right rear 17 in factory wheel is scored or chewed up along the rim.After more probing and gnashing of teeth I learn his car is a 91 and has the 16 in rear wheels,,,long story short the washes' ins. did reimburse me.So I would only be concearned about the pulley system in a touchless wash,not the water.

Down Melbourne way, we have some of the newer touchless carwashing machines. Now I would never, ever, EVER run my NSX through one of those things, but they are a real life/back saver when it comes to my Durango (daily driver) during love bug season.

The rest of the year the Durango gets hand washed, but when you have to wash your car every other day because you have to drive through love bug hell every day, then you do what you have to do.
