so calif
hi, wanted input from you guys.
i like to keep the stock head/cd changer... but place some component speakers (mb or kappas, etc. ) on the doors and a set of full range 6 1/2 or 6x9s in the 'back' and a enclosed/sealed sub of 8" or so and run it with a soundstream 5 Ch amp....
the amp would hve to be in the trunk/front or back ?
the 8" sub; can that go into the oem location? ( i did see some threads on the sub box mods....) and is there location for a 'rear' set of speakers on nsx?

jjrho,

You can place the amp in either of the places you mentioned, it depends on where you(or your installer) would like to put it.
The 8" sub can go in the stock location if you have a custom sub box made.
There is no pre-made location for a set of rear speakers, and I would not recommend that you put any back there anyway. The front stage (doors) should be enough for the average listener. JMO.

speaker location

oh oh... yeah, i really didn't see where 'rear speakers' could go....
i wander if the nsx can be fitted with a tweeter, mid and a low freq. on the door.... i.e. 3 speakers per side, like my sc430 with the mark levinson system, which is a fairly good system for a stock system....
o/w, 8" sub would have to be custom enclosed i guess....

Yep, it sure can but not without extensive modification to the door panel. Just a 2 way set is a big improvement over the OEM sound.

If you have a custom door pod made though it will sound better than having the speakers sit behind the door panel. I've noticed that when sitting in the passenger seat, the sound is much more noticable on the right as if it's faded too much to the right. Sitting in the driver seat it sounds great however so the car is more tuned for the driver and that's fine for me.
