Junkyard NSX's???

Anyone know a source? I purchased a 92 a few months ago and am looking for a few small interior cosmetic pieces, like the chrome? interior window moulding, that the previous owner dented somehow. I also bet that if it was a newer car, the hatch struts could also be used.

No I am not a cheap bastard,

I just don't like paying full price, unless I have to. OK, maybe I am. I just rationalize it by figuring that with certain used parts, I can take the money I am saving, and put it towards all the maintenance junk like pads, tires, and fluids, or put it in the piggy bank for the BBSC in a year or five.

Any help???

You don't have to make excuses as to why you are trying to get the best possible deal. Skip anyone who would call you cheap for not ordering the parts new from acura without looking around first.

What is the story on this ERZ Motors? Are all the NSX's rebuilt with salvage titles? They seem to have some pretty good deals. Should these cars be avoided?

I'd be very careful about buying an actual car from them, but they would be great for what Tom was looking for.

They get a lot of wrecked, high-end, cars there. The place is pretty big and seems more professional than usual.

Most but not all of the cars they sell are rebuilt. Not all of the rebuilt cars are salvage titled. I don't think they have many (if any) "mint" cars come through though.

I called them about a car a few years ago and talked about all the stuff they had in inventory and the guy (Joe) seemed to be very straight with me. They had what sounded like a few rough cars, a few parts cars and a few fairly decent cars. The prices were good. At the time I was looking for a "mint" car though so I didn't pursue any of them.

He had no idea that I knew anything about NSXs when I was was talking to him yet he didn't try to BS me, so he's already a few points up on most dealer salesmen I've dealt with.

However I would never buy a car like that without a serious inspection, both mechanical and body.

thanks guys! I am going to check on a few things once I can get my fiance off the computer. I'll post what I find as far as price and availibility for the common stuff.

TomC,

Make sure you do your homework when it comes to pricing. You mentioned the chrome. I had to replace the inner weatherstrip on my passenger door (the top chrome piece) I contacted ERZ and they came back with a price of "$100-perfect condition". I called Niello (Eric Milam) and he sold me a brand new one for $60!!!!!

Funny you should mention that. I inquired at the dealership today for a new drivers side piece. They gave me a quote of

$429.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to tell them 3 times that the moulding they were showing me was the exterior moulding, but I guess they thought i was just some new, dumb, idiot.

I am REALLY pissed now that I picked up the new motor and transistor for the AC repair (AC only works on high, Technical service bulletin issued) and the AC is still not working. OH well. gonna start a new topic to see if anyone can help.
