Thanks Linz

My husband called back, he let the car sit for about 15 mins, and he locked and unlocked the door. Got back in the alarm did not go off and the car started. He still would like to know what causes this and how to disable in the future. Thanks again

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me when I first had my '92.

If I recall, I had to do the same thing. Something also sticks in the back of my mind about disconnecting the negative on the battery as well, but I can't be sure...

Quick fix for future readers.

My alarm activated as designed. With doors locked, I reached in and released the engine hatch. Alarm sounded. Without a remote to silence the alarm, I didn't know the steps to disable the alarm. I opened the hood and held the horn to keep it silent. My attempts to pull the connector off the horn was unsuccessful. However, after either one or two minutes, the lights lowered and the alarm went silent.

I thought, hummmm  maybe it just reset over time. I attempted to start the car, and nope, the alarm activated again.

Went thru the same routine again until it went silent. From there it was to the computer and NSX Prime to find a possible answer as my owners manual was at home. I found the thread to disconnect the alarm near the front hood release.

I returned to the car with a pair of plyers and unhooked the connector to the horn. So here was my fix, which for those who don't know and without a remote resets the alarm, at least on my 95 NSX.

Open the door, lock the door. Shut the door. Insert the key to unlock the door. System reset. Car starts.

That makes sense now, but when the car is in alarm, one doesn't always think clearly. Hope this helps when caught in a similar situation.

LOL, glad it worked out for ya, Happened to me before in a Ford and it was quite embarrassing, hard to think straight when everyone is staring and the alarm is a blaring!!!

BTW: Get AAA! It is a lifesaver. I have the AAA+ for about $120 or so with my wife. We both get 4 tows/services per year. That's a total of 8!

I already used all of mine last year, and one of hers.

Probably the best $100 I've spent short of putting that into RE.

But searching for what? There doesn't seem to be anything remarkable in this thread that one would search for.

I was thinking the exact same thing..LOL
