Thanks to all that helped in checking the VIN on the car in Montreal Canada , everything checked clean. One more question. The car is a 1997 NSX-T Spa Yellow with 45000Km (28000miles) The current owner is asking $86,000 Canadian (Approx $55,100us)and the car is said to be absolutely mint condition. Is this a fair price. I also will have to pay PST on top of it bringing the total to $93,000cdn. Any help will be appreciated.

I paid 57k for mine and it had 10,800 miles on it. Spa Yellow NSX-T. Value is such a relative term. I thought 57k was a good price, but others thought it was a bit high.
(57k was actually the Kelly Blue Book value.)

Depends on how long your willing to wait I guess. I was looking specifically for a 97 NSX-T in Spa Yellow. The seller was close to my home and the car looked great. To me, it was well worth it. I didn't even need to travel out of state.

You shouldn't have any problems getting a 97 for 55k. Getting the color you want is probably the hard part.

good luck.
William

Used car tip: No matter how new the car may look or feel, always get it checked by a mechanic if the car has over 15k miles...preferably an NSX certified technician. Also, another major item to check for in a used NSX is the clutch. i've testdriven a '99 NSX with 31k miles...a leased vehicle. the clutch was almost out and the car was so shaky on 1st gear. Acura dealership charges $3-4k US to replace the stock clutch so i would have the car checked before buying. my 2 cents.....

If you compare prices in Canada with prices in the States you are going to be disappointed. Look at it this way, if you found a yellow 97 NSX-T in NY and you bought it for 50k US it would cost you 600 to transport it. It would cost you almost 80k CDN to obtain 50k US, the rate is .64 but it costs a point to exchange. The daytime driving lights, parking brake light, and stickers would cost you 1000 dollars. Then the 6.5 percent duty, which is paid on all CDN cars would cost you 5200 dollars. So you are looking at around 86,800 CDN to import an NSX that cost you 50k US dollars.

I don't know if prices in Canada run more than the States or less, but that sounds like a good price for the car based on the equivalent U.S. dollars, assuming that it's in mint condition as you say.

He's not comparing prices between the two countries and he's not importing an NSX. He's a Canadian buyer, buying a Canadian NSX from a Canadian seller.

Thanks Ken. I thought about it and I was thinking like the seller might wrongly think.
The car is in Canada and there is a limited market so the buyer should offer 80k CDN or whatever market price exists in Canada and the seller can either take it or try to sell the car in the USA.
There is a 96 with 14,000km for 89k in Ontario. So maybe 80k is a good price.

Thanks for the info, this car had a new clutch put in last year by the current owner and after talking to the Tech @ Acura that serviced the car it looks like only 3-4000km have been put on since. The reason I asked the question about value is becuase a month or so ago there was a red 20000 NSX-T in Toronto going for $99,000cdn and I compared the 97 with 2000 model. Anyways I'm going to take a look at the car on Fri hopefully everything will work out.

Thanx for the help.

Rcarlos, I don't think I'm buying from Eric the seller has a different name. Where abouts you from in Canada.
