I am getting ready to do my second Zaino application, but I was wondering if I should strip the car with Dawn again then start all over again. I also want to clay bar the car and am not sure how to use the clay bar after Zaino is already on the car. Will the Dawn strip the Zaino? I have checked the Zaino website but no luck finding the info, and they are not in on SAT. for me to call. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Dave

I may not be 100% correct on this, but I have a good idea. The Zaino is designed to put multiple coats on, the more you do, the better the finish and protection gets. The Dawn will wash everything away again, so I'm 99% sure that you just keep reapplying the Zaino again. Do a seach on this topic or check the FAQ for more concrete info.

I had the same problem with the vagueness in his tips. This is a personal response from Sal to one of his customers. I interpret that you obtain the brilliance you are searching for in the initial dawn wax stripping, claying, and then multiple coats of protectant applications. Thereafter, wash and chase with gloss enhancer and apply a coat of protectant if required.

"The number of coats of Z-2 or Z-5 is up to you. When you reach the level of enhancement you like, normal maintenence with Z-7 Car Wash and Z-6 "Gloss Enhancer" spray is all that's necessary. Naturally apply a coat of Z-2 or Z-5 whenever you feel it is required."

Dave,

You should not use Dawn again. The only purpose of using Dawn (or another suitable wax remover) is to remove the old wax and crud that might have accumulated over the years. Dawn will not remove Zaino.

If you wish to clay your car after Zaino has been applied simply wash the car very well. You want to make sure there's no dust or debris on the surface. Are you using Zaino car wash? It's really great too.

Once the car is squeeky clean you can then proceed with the clay. Be sure to properly lubricate the clay as you use it. I use a spray bottle with water and a capful of the Zaino car wash. There are plenty of sources for using the clay properly. The main thing to remember is to use plenty of lube and make sure you don't pick up debris on the clay. This is obviously a bad thing.

After you're done, rewash the car and you're good to go!

Regards and Happy Zainoing!!

Thanks Jimbo, Your answer was most helpfull. I know this this seems like a novel idea but when someone asks a direct question (I did not ask for opinions just directions) it is always nice to receive a direct answer.

Not looking for a war, and the battle over Zaino, Zymol, Mothers,............ has already been won in my mind, at least for now!

Thanks Guys
