Strut Tower Brace

You know that crossbar that is supposed to act like a rear strut tower brace? Well, I think I remember having one on my '94 coupe, but there isn't one on my Zanardi. The only pics I have to confirm this are mostly supercharged NSX-ZE models, but they seem to be missing it as well. Same goes for the new Type-R. Seems a bit odd to me, I don't even seem to have the necessary mounting brackets welded in place, so it looks like SoS will be getting an S.O.S. for the Okuyama unit, someday. Anyone care to reason why it was left off?

IIRC, the 97+ coupes have all the extra stiffening built in (from the coupe) that they no longer need the rear strut brace.

They should still have the same mount points, although these MAY be filled in with paint or primer.

correction: above comment in parentheses should read "(from the NSX-T)"

Yep, cajones probably has it right, the upgraded structural reinforcement necessitated by the targa (I presume that what you meant, cajones) and the solid roof obviates the need for the rear strut brace. Do you find that your NSX-Z chassis isn't rigid enough? I consider the strut brace unnecessary weight. Get the CT non-compliance rear beam/toe links instead and you'll be in handling heaven. Unfortunately, they're out of the rear beams right now...
