Alpine now makes an MP3 6 Disc changer that would allow you to have over 1000 songs in your car at one time. But I don't think the stock NSX radio can interface with it. I think I'm going to order one for my suburban though.

Ok I have left you all in suspence long enough.

Pureevil is correct. Alpine makes a new cd change that plays MP3's. What most don't know is that it will work with the stock deck. I will tell you how. Make sure you write down the model numbers down. Most stereo shops don't know how to make it work.

CD Changer
Alpine CHA-S634

Adapter
Alpine KCA-130B
This converts the Ai-net to the old M-bus

Adapter
Peripheral adapter for Honda
This reverses one of the outputs so the sound is in phase.

The final step is to set the switch inside the cd changer door from one to two.

Here is a pic of the final install:

Can you give any suggestions for adapting the new changer to the Acura CD changer bracket. For example, do you swith the brackets around, drill new holes, etc. Any help would be very much appreciated. Also where is the best place to purchase.

Very, very cool. I want one (and it just happens to be my birthday today!). May I ask -- how much?

An alternative location is in the glove box if you have a 91 or 92. Check out the DIY here:

If anyone has a hard time finding the parts let me know. [email protected]

If need be I am willing to go get the parts and ship them for $10, this will pay for my time and gas. Or maybe someone else here that is able to find the parts will do it for free.

The total cost of the parts was $300.00

If there is enough interest I am willing to do a step by step procedure. But I think it's fairly simple to do.

If you have any questions let me know.
Enjoy

My next project is a automatic reverse lockout for the 6 speed.

I was kind of wondering that myself. How does it determine a track order?

Since you are using the old M-bus and not the Ai-net it is just one large cd. No folders. All the buttons work the same way they did for a normal cd changer. It also plays normal cd's. Hope this helps

OK, no folders, just a bunch of mp3s dumped on a CD. But how does it determine track order? Alphabetically?

Since the CD display has only two digits, how does it handle CDs with over 99 tracks?

i have a somewhat related question.

Where do you guys get those nice faces to go over the custom radios. It looks like a stock interior piece.
