It sounds to me like he just needs some new ignition coil packs... Anyone have experience with this problem? I am directing him to this thread.

p.s. "HK NSX club" is the Hong Kong NSX club.

Dear Sir,

I am the owner of HK NSX club and my NSX recently giving me a bit of headach. When the engine warmed up, one or even two cyclinders are not properly fired. I have replaced all the spark plugs and it still giving me the same problem only after the engine warmed up. The car was running fine when start in cold.

I suspect that it would be the coil problem. Anyone of your club members experience the same problem as me? Should I replace all the coils and test it out again?

Look forward to your help!

Thanks

Tom

Like David and Lud said, it may be bad ignition coil packs. But it could also be that the ignition packs were put in incorrectly. Check that the ignition packs from the front engine bank were not mixed with the ignition packs from the rear bank. The packs are marked "FR" and "RR" I believe. One car that had this happen was misifring and running very poorly.

For future reference, your dealer can tell you which one is not firing by hooking up their hand held computer. I had a bad coil on my Zanardi last year. When the dealer told me which cylinder wasn't firing, I switched it with the coil next to it while they ordered a replacement. Sure enough, the move confirmed the bad coil. Replacing all six might have been extream.
