99 NSX at goodson in Ivring, tx

it's been sitting up on that rack for a long time now...long time.

At least a few months...and seems to change position from time to time...assuming someone must be driving it...or at least having it down to test drive.

I can always go check it out for you...I will be over that way this weekend.

I had a conversation with one of the salesmen about this NSX, and he quoted me a good price on it. I'm not looking for a '99 nor can I afford one, or I would have snapped it up. For what it's worth, it's an Acura Certified car and it doesn't have too many miles on it.

No you do not need to check it out, just wondering if anyone new any hostory on this car!!!!!!!!!

If you want, someone like scottjua or myself can get the VIN and ask their service dept. to look at the history. I have a good relationship with the Goodson folks and they'll get you an honest story.

They are straight-up folks over there... they have been gracious enough to host NSteXpo this spring and will be a large sponsor and host of NSXPO 2002 in the fall.

In fact, they are giving us free use of a couple of their service bays and lifts for a 3-4 day period coming up shortly to handle 6-8 BaschBoost and various header installs when Mark Basch comes to town. They don't make a dime on this... in fact it will tie up part of their service department they could be using to service customer cars AND they're opening up on a Sunday for us - it's just goodwill with the NSX community.

So... the offer stands. Just ask here or send a private email. Either scottjua or I can help you (or anyone else interested) with this one.

Is the only way to get the service history to have an "inside line"?

When I tried to get the service history of my car out of Bedford Hills Acura they said they weren't allowed to release it even though I was there with the car having work done.

I honestly don't know. If you OWN the vehicle, then I don't see why it would be an issue for a dealer to do a search and give you the service history. If you don't own it, then I would imagine that policy prevents them from doing this... unless you have an "inside line". That's just life.

Be aware, though, that for many older cars (91-93, for example), dealers may not have complete records. Goodson, for example, only has computer records for their service going back to 1994 or so, and they can *sometimes* see when a car gets serviced somewhere else, but not necessarily what it was. Even so, they will go the extra mile and call other dealerships to inquire about service on cars and will also search paper records to see what they have on file before their existing computer system.

Cultivate a relationship with your local service and parts department. It will be well worth the effort in the long run.
