My clutch is starting to slip on the 1-2 upshift. Its not bad yet but when the BBSC goes on later this month,Im sure that will do it.Has anyone had any problems with their Powergrip II going bad this early?I understand it is probably due to my driving but what the hell. Can I get away with just installing a disk this time?

I believe that the discs, pressure plate and even the flywheel are matched sets and should be changed as a unit. Actually I don't mean "matched" sets per-se but the all wear surfaces conform to each other.

With labor being a considerable percentage of the install, I don't see where it makes sense to install just one component of the set.

PS: I just had a new short gear 4.23 R&P tranny and entire clutch/disc/flywheel setup installed. I used the ATC unit and so far it feels pretty darn good. It came with everything, flywheel, discs, pressure plate, pilot bearing and throwout bearing.
