head unit wiring diagram?

I thought this was in the FAQ, but I can't find it, I can only find the CD changer DIN plug diagram.

Basically I need to know the wiring coming from the head unit and the wiring coming into the various "Blose" enclosures (which can hopefully be determined by knowing the wiring coming out of the head unit if it's not spelled out anywhere specifically). Thanks!

unnevermind, this doesnt exactly help. this diagram is for an integra which has rear speakers as well, but i thought i could still use it for my purposes. problem is this

the molex connector in the door that connects to the bose amp has 4 wires: yellow, black, yellow/red, white. These in turn connect to the amp wires purple, orange, yellow, black, from which two wires come out to the speakers: green and red.

WHAT A MESS!!!

What I need to know is of the four wires that come from the head unit (black, yellow/red, yellow, white), which are LF+ and LF-

Go to nsxprime.com and check the NSX Service Manual in the section termed electrical. It should show all the pin outs for the head unit connectors.

i threw a multimeter on these, and it looks like white is LF+ yellow is LF-
and black and yellow/red are power for the amp. it was just sort of odd that as i turned up the volume
on the head unit, the voltage dropped on white and yellow (it seemed to vary between .540 and .560 volts),
i would have expected the opposite to occur. when i turned off the car, voltage jumped up to about 1.8v then slowly
dropped over about a minute down to zero (caps bleeding off?)

ahhh, service manual, tried that before but acrobat kept hanging... i was thinking it was in the separate electrical manual which isnt on nsxprime, so didn't try to hard to get it working. it looks like the diagram is in there after all, thanks for making me look again.

the service manual lists white as positive and orange as negative and yellow/red and black as power and ground. mine doesnt have an orange, it has yellow instead so i can only assume i have it correct.

Refer to page 23-234. It will give the pin position on the connector with wire color and function.

Hope that helps.

Honda/Acura has used the same molex connector for their stereos since the 80's.

I bought a regular head unit wire kit, for a 90+ Integra at my local stereo shop for my NSX and it worked just fine.

Also if you are changing out the head unit and trying to drive the Bose speakers, thats a bad idea. The Bose drivers are self-amplified, so unless you know the proper signalling to send to that driver, you could damage the speaker. But im sure you know this ;P

actually its the other way around, im keeping the head unit, and tossing out the blose crap, but the wiring i needed was the wiring coming into the amps in the doors. the standard honda pinout diagrams didnt work for the nsx. the connector was the same but if you look at the url i posted, you'll note that most hondas have front/rear speakers, no phone mute connection and no center speaker. all the colors were different as well. the service manual was the only thing that had the wiring (close to) correct that i could find on the net. anyway, i'm off to go figure out where to put this amp, it actually looks like it may fit under the seat with no room to spare.

just in case anyone ever needs this, i created this and send a copy to lud as well for the faq:

btw, i screwed up, these pinouts are backwards... ill fix it soon and repost but if you need this in the meanwhile, print it out and look at it in the mirror
