I have bought an Alpine CHM-S611 CD-changer for my '94 NSX and (finally) got the ACUALP-cable. Now I need the mounting bracket to put the changer in the trunk.
However, I have been unable to locate the Honda/Acura part-number to be able to order it. Could anyone give me the right number to order this ??

I have a mounting bracket from my old totaled NSX. In my actual one I used velcro instead (for newer Alpine units you need to adapt the bracket). Are you interested?

Problem: it is at my parents home and I will not go there for at least 3 weeks...

Hi Gheba
Actually, I just called my dealer and he told me he had a bracket for the S2000 I can have. We just don't know however if this will fit so I have to go overthere and check it myself. I will do this next Saturday. If this doesn't fit I would be more than happy with yours.

Gheba,

If Martyn does not want your bracket I would be very interested. I also just got a alpine unit

Martyn,

I just mailed your membership materials to NSXCA to you. I would guess a week or so and you will get it.

Enjoy,

The bracket for the S2000 is completely different. You'll have to bolt it to the trunk floor in the horizontal position for it to work and the CD changer may not fit.

Yes, the S2000 bracket is diffrent.
Local Acura dealer told me that bracket for NSX is little over $300.

Just ordered mine from hondacuraworld.com for 75 dollars, shipping included.

Gheba,

I've been offered a CD-changer bracket by private email which offer I accepted so you're free to use it for someone else.
Thanks very much for your kind offer.

I did the velcro deal on my new alpine cd changer I mounted it to the antenna side of the trunk wall with velcro and it hasnt moved at all and that includes some spirited driving, looks good there too.Doug

Frisbee,
Could you tell me how exactly you used Velcro to tie the Changer to your trunk. I assume it would work just as well on the right side as on the left side.

MvM,
I installed it with double side velcro (3M, three stripes, 15 cm long and two cm wide, costs 2 euro) on the left side of the trunk. Total time 10 minutes (I also used the ACUALP adapter to make the original OEM cable that is in the left corner longer

). It is mounted horizontally but I can deattach it (velcro) and put it vertical if I need to put something big in the trunk (or remove it at all very easily).

Gheba,
Thanks for the input. I'm still waiting for the CD-changer-bracket so I think I will use the velco-option in the meantime. But why did you do the install on the left side ?

Because the ACUALP adapter I used was long enough for the left side of the trunk and not for the right. Which advantage would I have had by using the right side instead?

Gheba,

Just wanted to let you know I got the CD changer bracket. It was pretty reasonable at $75 so I just got it here. Thanks very much for considering me. I am sure it will find a good home.

Take care,
LarryB

Can someone please send me a photo of the bracket. I am specifically looking for a picture that shows where the bolts go. I want to do a before and after shot, so everyone knows where to drill the holes for the mp3 player. Anyone? [email protected]

nsxxtreme,

Actually I do not have to drill any holes. The brackets that come with the changer bolt to bosses in the right rear fender inner liner. If this is a first time install, I think you will just need to make four holes in the right side truck carpeting.

My NSX had the factory phone installed and the brackets that came with the CD changer bracket kit were already bolted on, since the phone was in the same location.

Regardless, even it you have not had any equipment installed, it does seem truly "bolt on".

I was originally thinking I would leave the phone and just put it on the left side, but is was just too easy to bolt it up on place of the phone, which frankly is a pretty sad phone based on todays cell technology.

I will just store it, since it has the red NSX logo on it.

HTH,
LarryB

Ok, I got the bracket back. Is this the same that is sold in the US? It was the one I found on my old '91.

Yes, that's it!
