Does it make it look lower?

I just got my 96 NSX-T in red. Everything is stock. I noticed the front lower lip is black platic and wanted to pray painted red to make it look lower. But I've notice all the pictures posted on this site, if it's stock, has black lower lips. Has anyone painted theirs to match body color? Does it make it look lower? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

I just painted mine on Sunday ($60 from a frined of mine).

I think it looks much better, and the car does look lower as well.

Yes it definitely looks lower. I'm very glad I did it. I even have another one all painted up and ready in the garage for when I scrape this one.

I don't like it because it accentuates the difference in width between the middle and the sides. It looks odd to me. Whereas when it's black, it just sort of disappears.

Of course, if you have an early NSX, the chin spoiler is a uniform width, so that's not even an issue...

Where is the cheapest place to buy one of these front lip spoilers. Are they available from Acura? How much? I have a Silver 92 and I'm painting the roof to match. I like the look of the painted front lip. I also think it makes the car look lower and more finished off.

The lower sides of my Supra are painted black by the factory because it gives the car the appearance of being lower.
Maybe the NSX is different because the sides are painted one colour.

Edit: Then again my logic concludes that the automatic NSX is the best because 1 in 9 is built and almost every used NSX for sale is a manual.

I'm convinced by Nsxotic. The pictures you posted are awesome. Your Spa Yellow Pearl with painted front lip does make it look lower and complete. How did you paint yours? Did you take it off and spray painted? That was what I was going to do with mine. Please suggest. Thanks.

You can get one from your Acura dealer for around a hundred bucks. The original '91-96 design is discontinued but they sell the '97+ ones with the flared sides, which can also be installed on the '91-96 NSX.

The cheapest mail order sources include Eric Milam of Niello Acura with the discount for members of the NSX Club of America.

This is a topic I have some experience with.

Hand painting is not optimal, paint cracks and looks uneven.I've had the parts sprayed by a bodyshop, and with good flexable auto paint it lasts and looks good,,or at least noticible in my case.
