Hello everyone,

I'm new to this group, have been reading these forums for the last year and a half gathering info on the NSX. It's been a lot of help. I can say i am now a proud owner of a 91 NSX. I am thrilled to own this car. I was wondering if there has been any horror stories about the installation of body kits and what to look out for? I really like the wings west kit. Any suggestions? Also are bodykits easy to remove if i want to go back to stock? Thanks for your time.

dali sells the wings west kit for the lowest price i can find. i too really liked the same kit until i saw it in person on a silver car recently, now im not sure anymore. i'd seen a million pics of it and it always looked great, try to see it on a car of your color in person first. as far as fitment of it, yes, ive read over and over about how the tape that comes with the kit is useless and that custom brackets need to be made. also in some cases the plastic needed to be heated and shaped to the car for better a better fit. in the end the fitment looks decent, it's just much more work that everyone has expected apparently.

I am getting the Wings West kit installed on my 92(duh) in the next week or so. I looked around quite a while until I found the kit I liked the best. I have heard from several other sources that it is one the better kits as far as fitment and looks are concerned. A real boost of confidence came when I talked with MJ from Dali and found that to be the only body kit he sells(I think). He sells nothing but quality products, so if he trusts the product enough to put it on his shelf then I trust it for my car. He has NEVER steered me wrong on anything.
Good Luck.
I'll post my opinion after the install.

I have sold over a dozen of the front spoilers and they seem to both fit and last well. I have not personally fit the other pieces, and I have not heard some of the horror stories mentioned above. ALL body kit pieces, especially the CF/FG ones tend to be smaller than stock and/or warped and ill fitting in some way - look at the pix of the vendor "show cars" closely and you will see what I mean. I think the urethane WW pieces fit pretty well as far as aftermarket parts go, and I would not be surprised at all if "some professional fitting" is required depending upon how well that particular production run came out.
YMMV.

Dumb question but not having seen in the flesh -
The WW air dam - is it just the very lowest section where the original spoiler piece would be (item 7 in BOM), or is it the complete bottom half of bumper (replacing items 2 & 7 from original BOM)

The air dam fits over the lower portion of the bumper, covering the OEM lip spoiler. The spoiler does not cover the entire bottom half of the front bumper, but rather maybe half or 1/4th of it. Hope that helps, if not take a look at the pictures and you'll know what I mean.

PaRaPpA:
You can remove the WW kit at any time and return the car to stock, though you may have to clean/remove some of the double sided tape if it sticks on. The install of the WW kit isn't that bad, and I'm sure you can do it yourself(I did). Prep and proper fitment will ensure a perfect look.

Email me directly if you have futher questions or want some tips for installing the kit.

Thank you for all the replies, one more question, how much lower does the wings west kit lower your car? I lined up the kit in photoshop to the factory panel and it seems almost the same. How do you think it will look if i got only the side panels and the rear and paint the OEM black front piece red. I think the wings west front is a little to aggressive for my taste and i might scrape on my driveway....it seems that the wings west front goes lower than the side panels.

Thanks

Thanks

The wings west front air dam is maybe a 1/4 of an inch lower then stock 91 nsx front.. i used the chin spoiler as a guide when i installed my front and it fit right up against the bottom ... i did not use the ww side steps as i wanted something more aggressive so i got the lecher side steps instead ... and i will be gettin the ww rear spats from someone for a unbelivable price and that should finish out my kit...you can see pics of it from the nsx poker rally.

How was the fit on your Lecher steps? I've heard the Marga's are poor, the WW is good, but no comments on the Lechers: feedback would be appreciated - the style is the best IMHO.

I had the Lechers side skirts and the fit was terrible and I only had 3" of ground clearance with them and scraped when backing out of my driveway with a moderate incline. I am going back with the Wings West side skirts. Also, you can't use any door sill covers with the Lechers. It seems like they were designed to be used with the wide fenders instead of stock.
