exhaust question

Not that we recommend it, but replacing the cats with straight pipes will make it louder. However, you can also get headers or get a louder exhaust that retains the cats so you can pass emissions.

I have Comptech catback exhaust and will be adding CT headers this week. I'll post my impressions on power and sound after I get them on.

OK, got the car back last night. Seat-of-pants dyno indicates an improvement in power. Comptech claims 12-18 additional horsepower with headers and stock exhaust, 20-25 more with headers and cat-back. I am going to do some G-Tech Pro trials to see what kind of numbers I come up with. No problems with O2 sensors, seems to rev faster, sounds meaner, not much louder at idle or low rpms, noticibly louder at WOT,
definitely feels quicker- maybe .5 sec 0-60.
BTW- my mechanic was impressed with the quality and light weight of the parts and the ease of the installation. Overall, I would recommend CT headers and exhaust.

I have had the CT combination for a few years now and my car dynos, with no other power mods, at 271 rwhp.

My seat of the pants feeling is that this modification transformed the car. The sound has changed from a rasp, when first installed, to more of a growl three years later.

Oh, and NO quality issues on fit and finish AT ALL.

chops what are your mods? i dyno the same numbers as you, but you didnt mention no cats. i have no cats, hks exhaust, ct headers, ct cf air box.

with CT headers, catback exhaust, K&N filter, OEM cats and OEM chip, I have realized a consitant decrease in 0-60 times of approximately .4 seconds. HP increase is
approximately 20. (multiple runs with G-Tech Pro) Definitely a personality change for the car- from sedate supercar to snarling Ferrari-hunter.
