Car Covers

I suppose the factory one is pretty darn good. You can get from Honda dealers (various ones discount), A&H, and be sure to check the "market" here and the other NSX for sale sites.

OEM covers will run you about 146 with the NSXCA discount. Aftermarket covers will run you roughly 100-129 for roughly the same thing (Evolution 4). I do not know however how snug the aftermarket NSX covers are compared to OEM. Anyone know that?

Niello price for NSXCA is $167 plus tax & shipping because they only give 20% off for accessories (that's what they said when I asked for the 30% off). I bought one and it come the day after. Very nice, different fabric than the one produced in 1994. It comes with the cable lock and nice NSX bag.

I have an aftermarket NSX cover (made of a layered "Evolution" fabric) and it fits perfectly (slightly snug, particularly when sliding it over the "ears" (side-view mirrors)).

Unless you care about the NSX logo on the bag, I've found that aftermarket car covers that are custom-made for the NSX are just as high in quality as the OEM one. The only caveat is that there are a lot of different fabrics available, so go through the advice on the websites in those links and select the fabric that best meets your needs.

Call Acura of Augusta (800-736-6818) ask for Joe... our cost is $146 for the NSX cover and $128 for the NSX fender cover. That is with our 30%.

I have a 100% cotton cover that I ordered from BRM (Blue Ribbon Motoring), They are in the back of most of the bigger mags (R&T etc.)
I used to have the oem one, but after spending hours cleaning my black baby, I'd put the cover on it, only to remove it the next time I wanted to use it , to find grey specks of lint all over it. I ordered the BRM cover in Black to try and avoid this, and it not only takes care of that problem, but it fits better (made out of more pieces), and looks sinister as hell!! It almost looks better under the cover, ALMOST!!
I'd be happy to email pics if youd like to see them.

Be careful which fabric you choose. All-cotton covers have advantages in availability in different colors, and they're extremely soft. However, they are not particularly durable, particularly if you use them outside where the wind can blow them around.

Question: can you put an OEM car cover on immediately after running the car.

Short of it is that I may be leaving for another bout of business. Will cover the car with an OEM cover when I am gone, but want a friend to start it occasionally. Can he put the OEM car cover back on immediatley after warming the car up for 15 - 20 minutes, or should he let the car cool down for a period of time, before he slips the car cover back on.

Gets to issues of the OEM being able to dissapate heat appropriately, etc.

Regards.

Yes. I used to do this when I first bought my car and lived in a hi-rise in Chicago.

If I put the car cover on immediately after running the car, I leave the bottom edge just over the bumper in the rear; I only wrap it down over the exhaust tips if the car isn't still hot.

Unless your going to be gone a very long time it probably doesn't need to be started till you come home, my cat doesn't need that much attention when I'm gone

I don't start my car during the 4-6 months it sits each winter. I do have a charger on the battery, though.
