hey everyone, i'm somewhat new here on nsxprime, so hello to everyone first of all

i drive a 240sx, but i'm trying to learn more about the NSX b/c it's a truely beautiful car. i was just checking all over the net looking for NSX engine mods, but can't realy find many. i know that it's a rare car by comparison to most, so many aftermarket parts makers don't even bother with it, but i was just wondering what aftermarket there actualy was. i know that Toda sells an nsx 500 crate motor, but i can't find any parts for sale on their site, which leads me to belive that they don't cary parts any more, (or if they even ever did).

i know that there are 3 superchargers out there, the Comptech, Bachboost and the GrouppeM. I know all about the differences between the three, so that isn't realy a concern.

the nsx seems like it would have at least a small aftermarket, like cams, indapendent throttle bodies, and stuff like that. i know there wouldn't be too many parts makers, but it seems like someone would capitalize and corner the market on it. The nsx seems like a superior platform for aftermarket, so i just can't figure it out.

sorry if i've bored many of you, i've just had these questions tumbling arround for a while and they had to be asked

see you guys arround,

I think it is a simple matter of market size. Product design cost can be high and to get the investment back results in high unit prices at low volumes. The probability of losing money is higher for the small aftermarket like the NSX compared to the much larger Honda Civic/Integra/etc aftermarket. "Cornering the market" means nothing if you are losing money.

There are what? something like 12,000 or so NSX's in the states? Still more then Turbo Supra's but you have to take into account that the NSX crowd isn't as boy-racer as the rest of the import scene. (though I think it'd be neat to see a lazy eye'd NSX in an opposite lock drift from one 240sx fan to another

If you're looking for crazy mods, search around for some of the Japanese stuff for the car. They have quite some mods you would probably find interesting, depending on what you're looking for.

12,000 nsx, I wish, try 8,000,less now including all the total, stolen, etc one.

Maybe the engine designers did their jobs and there aren't additional gains to be had - or, even if there are, not that would be worth the expense to develop and produce, or would have undesirable side-effects (reliability, drivability, etc).

The NSX has a very high compression ratio and nearly 100 HP / L. I think Honda spent considerable resources taking it to the limit and has the best engineering in the world. It makes it hard to go that extra step.

Look at the S2000. I don't see a LOT of internal engine mods for that car either. At 120 hp/L where are you going to go - reliably? You would have to rebuild the motor every other weekend to get much better then that.

There are plenty of mods, they're just not available in the U.S. Some of them have started to creep over here in the form of SoS, and Cybernation.
If any of you are looking for JDM parts I'm sure I could find someone to get them for you.
