DC Headers

Factor X slapped on a set of headers for me over the weekend and all I can say is WOW! What a difference!

They are beautiful to look at and they actually work. Their headers did not do much for my GSR but they really woke up my NSX. Maybe it is just me but after the install the car starts easier now and the power comes in around 3K, definitly hear and feel the manifold swith at 4.8/5K and the real fun begins at 5.8K with the VTEC cams.

I am very pleased with results and I definitly recommend them as a good mod in terms of $/H.P.

See what you started? hehehe...I love the way the headers look...they tend to be heavier than the stock ones but, the gains are very noticeable in the HP dept. 5inch, has Comptech headers right?

Good to hear that you like your investment

How much is it cost for the DC header (shipped) and the installation cost?
I am looking for a used Comptech header.

M.S.R.P. is $1519.95. I bought them at wholesale and I was told to keep the figure to myself, sorry!

Installation was 4 Hours Labor at $70 hour. I looked at the finished job and was very glad that I did not have to tackle that project.

The power/$$$ ratio isn't all that impressive for headers, IMHO. Particularly for the 3.2L.

What is it?...something around 1 hp = $100?

But it is one of the only semi-reasonable upgrades that will improvement performance. Even though the actual gains aren't all that much.

Getting around 18-20 H.P., a throater exhaust note, reduced vehicle weight and nice eye candy isn't worth it? Have you seen the factory manifolds for the 3.0? They look like the factory exhaust manifolds from an old chevy.

I will agree with you on the 3.2 since they already come with headers.

I'd like to know why NSX headers are about 5X more than headers for other cars/trucks. Is it because the companies who make the headers for NSX's think that if we can afford such expensive cars, then we can afford to pay out the nose for headers and other parts?

Yes

NoClgDeg,
That is not the way supply and demand theory works. The manufacturers can produce as many headers as the NSX customers want. There are just so little competition which causes the monopoly power. I think it is the profit motive
