Is there any aftermaket antenna for the NSX to replace the stock one?

I disconnected the factory one and install a cheap rubber antenna right inside the panel covering the factory one, Now i get good reception and dont have to stare at that long antenna in my rearview mirror.

Well, I used to own an Integra and this is a popular modification. It's not a NSX but the principles are the same. Lookhere, BTW, the S2000 antenna can be obtained at your Honda dealership for 30 USD, online sources have them priced for cheaper. I believe the Insight antenna can also fit. Hope this helps.

That looks way better than the long one on the NSX. Anyone have photos of the one on Luds car or a Zendar on a NSX. Anyone have an instruction manual on how to do it. I think the only thing I wish Acura did on the NSX comestically was get rid of that huge antenna. It looks so out of place

I installed the ZENDAR Mini-Racing unit on my nsx. Install was very easy. The stock unit comes right out and the Zendar fits right in. All you need is a larger washer to connect it since the one it comes with is smaller then the stock hole. There should be some pics of it somewhere on the site. If you can't find it i could take one of my car and post it later.

Install is very easy. Removing the stock antenna requires pulling back the interior carpet in the trunk and unbolting the stock unit. Toss old unit in trash. Take the antenna cable from the old unit and plug it into the bottom of the Zendar. And bolt on. You will need a larger washer to cover the hole since the included one is too small. Very easy to install, takes 15 mins.

I got it mine in a group buy another member was able to setup. Sorry I don't know which shop he got it from. Many stereo shops sell them, just run a google search and find one. I think you can get it for $50 bucks or so.

Does the Zender retract?

Does it pick up radio as well?

Which is taller - the Zender or the S2000 one?

Okay, I had previously thought about doing this, but after seeing the photos I think I'm just going to buy the SmartAntenna or unplug it. IMHO, I think a stub antenna like the Zender or the S2K ruins the NSX's lines. It looks like something that would belong on my Miata...

Carefull with the SmartTenna. Sure it is awesome and works perfectly - but if your car is stock you will be tempted to buy $20,000 worth of go-fast stuff and try to do it yourself.

ask me how I know...

matteni,

The Zender does not retract. It is about 3-4 inches long, and unscrews at the base if you need to take it off. Shorter then the S2000 one. It does not pick up radio as well as stock though.
