Exhaust - Tubi or not to be?

I have heard many wonderful things about the TUBI exhaust system, and I am thinking of fitting it to my 1993 NSX. I am especially drawn to the "Ferrari noise" that it claims to produce. Has anyone got anything bad to say about it? or are there any better alternatives? How do I get hold of one here in the UK?
I took my car to the track last week with a friend of mine who has a 355. I kept up with him in on the track but in the pits it was a different story! The noise the 355 makes is just so sweet - it really makes the NSX very ordinary.

I heard one for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It sounded great! Much more ferrari-like IMO. I would get one myself if they were not so expensive! Now, I didn't ride in the car, so I don't know how it sounds while driving, or how loud it would be at a constant 70 mph. Those are factors I would consider before making the purchase.

im really really happy with mine. it definately makes the difference. the tubi has that similar ferrari quality of sound. dont worry about being overly loud in the cabin, its not, even if you hit it hard it still doesnt overwhelm you. at cruising speeds (unless your in third gear going 75

) the sound is very low key.

if you want a really loud exhaust, this is not it. it really sounds like what the stock exhaust should have sounded like, not like some really loud aftermarket option. i would characterize it as fairly subtle, sophisticated and rather ferrari like. and it gets better with time.

good luck.

can anyone do a comparison between the Tubi and Taitec JGTC parallel exhaust. I have read great things about both, but can anyone that has heard/owned both do a comparison?

what model year nsx is tubi available? emailed tino several days ago, but have heard nothing yet.

there's a couple of pretty extensive exhaust threads comparing several of the available systems.

Where did you get yours, huckster?

I think the Tubi is available for 91 to 01.
The difference is the 95+ need ext pipes that are inc. I think!
As for the Ferrari sound its not quite as high pitched Or as clean sounding.
At idle it tends to gargle. Some even say it rattles a little bit.
The sound is a lot cleaner when you get on it. And it sounds amazing from inside the cockpit! 1 1695 money well spent. 2 easy to install. 3 clean looks. 4 less weight. 5 more horse power. Well maybee not 5 but thats 4 good reasons to get one!

In my opinion, GruppeM intake + GruppeM Exhaust combo sounds close to F355 high pitch and loud sound (some people say F360). Tubi exhaust doesn't produce high pitch sound. If you like the "high pitch" and loud sound
of the F355, you should get the GruppeM exhaust. If you like "deep tone" and loud sound, you should get the Tubi.

You can contact Alex Vizcarra
[email protected] if you are interested to know where to get it in UK.

hey jonathan, you have to go through tino to get the tubi. they dont make a lot of them so they become available ever so often. they just had a batch made about 30days ago, there may still be some left. i dont have tino's info handy, but there are threads with his e-address if you hit search. need additional help, let me know.

I've heard both, and like them for different reasons.

IMO the Tubi note is higher-pitched, more metallic. And the tips are pretty.

Taitec JGTC note is lower-pitched, more racecar-like. And a good deal louder -- and the tips are manly-looking.

Quality on both seems comparable.

Price independent, I suspect that more folks will like the TUBI. As an overall value, the Taitec JGTC is hard to beat. Both offer a BIG improvement over stock, and are IMO a lot better than the units from Comptech / RSR / DC Sports / RM Racing.

I have the Tubi and am very pleased with the sound from the cockpit. Not too loud, not to subdued. I was very tempted to go with the Gruppe M Version 3, but you have to run it sans cats. This presents a major problem to anybody living in areas that require emmissions inspections.

thanks for that comparison, it really helps, I've heard tubi from the cockpit, which is not bad at all, doesn't drone, how about the taitec??
