Just a question, would anyone on this site be interested in a magazine devoted strictly tothe NSX, with diffrent articles of NSX's around the globe. Possible investers so I want your guy';s input!!

" Have you passed a domestic lately? "

Yes,

We are very interested. It is called NSXDriver, published by NSXCA quarterly.

The magazine I want to do is more toward the monthly status, and it would kind of be like honda tuning magazine, but it would be called NSX Tuner.

As Larry mentioned, NSX Driver is the quarterly magazine of the NSX Club of America and is now in its fifth year of publication.

There are two other regularly-scheduled NSX-exclusive publications that are no longer around. NSXtra is a monthly six-page newsletter that was published from around 1992 to 1996 (?). NSX Connection was a quarterly video series that was published from 1993 to 1994.

I'm sure people will be interested. Whether the number willing to pay for a subscription is sufficient for the publication to sustain itself is another question entirely, one that will only be answered by trying it. Go for it!

There are probably more products available for the NSX now than ever. If you can get the advertiser support, you may have a chance.

Have you considered making it strictly web-based to save on publishing and shipping costs?

Btw, I'm interested as well

I think that is a great idea, however, I find it really difficult for it to be better than NSX Prime in terms of getting useful information.

There's a publication titled something like, "The Acura/Honda NSX Performance Portfolio," that contains a compilation of articles about the NSX. Articles by the main auto pubs from all over the world are included in this.

It may give you a good starting point.

I think stating with a web based is a great idea, next step is to find advertisers. I would have to use them as banners for now, but I would like to have a tech corner, which wuold go through the new products out there, show the installation process and what the dyno result was, and see if they are what they say they are. If you guys are interested, than I don't have a problem putting up some cash for it to start. I would need to use this forum to start with some of the NSX's I want to publish are yours. You re all very respectable and very smart people. I thik this could make the articles intriguing and inspiring.

Thanks for the input so far, you guys rock!!!

as stated above we have a mag dedicated to the nsx.with that said and I may ruffle some feathers I feel it is a little light.meaning that it contains great info but not enough to satisfy my thirst for more true hardcore tuning.if you are going to do this you will need the support of all the vendors for aftermarket products for our car.we as a community are blessed with vendor-techs that really share a passion for the car and are not out for money only.that cannot be said for many of the other mags which I buy (all of them)every month. I would really like your mag to come to fruition and wish you the best.please keep it tech and of course an import model every month is injoyable.
best regards and good luck with your mag project.

I agree. I love reading NSX Driver but it is far too little and not often enough to satisfy my obsession with my car. =) I'd love to see a magazine just about the NSX and how to tune it, perform upkeep, etc. And as long as it isn't too pricey, I'd even pay a subscription for it. I love my NSX!!! =P You can never have too much of a good thing.

Enjoyable...you mean a MUST HAVE!
Seriously though, ya it is a good idea. Maybe we can schedule a test where **ALL** of the FI and NOS kits compete for Power/Value/Safety/ Etc.....
That is something I would definitely pay to read!!!

If you decide to go web based, dont expect a lot of money from banner ads. The days of everyone wanting a banner are gone. We (my newspaper) have very little success getting money for banners. Just a thought.

IMHO...

The way to do this would be to go high-quality, high production values, excellent photography.

Are you familiar with the The Rodder's Journal?

http://www.roddersjournal.com/

That publication would be a great starting point.

Even at $25 per issue, it's something that you would want to save and look at over and over.

The key is to provide something UNIQUE.

I think the major thing the NSX community lacks is testing and comparison of aftermarket products that is:

* Objective and unbiased - Most of the data that has been properly measured so far is from the vendors or manufacturers of the products.

* Properly measured - The all-too-common practice of dynoing only after installing something doesn't tell you what change it produced. Comparing differently configured cars and/or data from different dynos is also pretty useless. "Seat of the pants" measurements should be outlawed.

* Examines the BIG picture, not just a specific claim - For example does it achieve a top-end HP increase but decrease power through the bottom 2/3 of the RPM range? If it's new, what is the potential for problems? Do the products from Bob's Wife's Old Pantyhose Air Filters really do a good job of filtering?

If someone put out a publication I felt did a good job of meeting those criteria, I would certainly pay for it. It would however be a TREMENDOUS amount of work to do it right.

I would defintely have an interest in something along those lines and I think many here would. Just my .02.

.....Um.....

What Lud said.

You will have to satisfy a varied crowd: the hardcore tuners, the mint condition owners, the tech readers, and those like me who like to learn about all the things that make the NSX special in terms of design, efficiency, and stats that prove its reliability and strength (so I can shove it in the face of those punk redneck mustang owners!!!!) ahem...yes...you get the idea.

if u make it web-based, then u r gonna have to compete with nsx prime... and there's no competition in my opinion (NSX prime RockZ)

...if u go web based, how about striking sme kind of deal with Lud... coz (no offense) nsxprime's frontpage stories could use some more frequent updating. Plus maybe NSXprime's forums could benefit ur magazine. Just an idea (no royality if u like my idea!

)

If u go printed, any chance of overseas subscriptions????

All the info has been great so far. I definitly wouldn't mind teaming up with Lud in terms of web based, but I do feel Lud is right as fas as content goes. That is exaclty what I am shooting for. The only probleem I forsee is to do true testing I would need a lot of the compaines to provide me the info I need, and with what I will have to start, it is hard to ask them for a lot, when I can offer very little. If the first issues to become sucessfl, all that can do is provide more ground for me to stand on, and then I can let the people read hopefully what they want to read. Maybe for teh prototype issue I could get some help from my friend Mark Basch? I am sure you guys would be interested in the BBSC
