As much as i love my car, i hate the rattles and squeeks! Is there anywhere i can take my baby to get this fixed (kinda from all parts of the interior!)? Is this normal for a '92 with about 50k miles? The squeeks and rattles seem more prominent when the weather is try and cold, and less (esp when raining) when damp and humid.

One other problem i've been experiencing is shifting from 2nd to 3rd at WOT 8000k. I get a grind! Its been suggested that i have a worn syncro?

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks!

I'm getting a strange noise with my '99 NSX-T. It sounds like a sheet of metal or glass is resonating from the corner above and behind the passenger's seat. It's happens every so often, usually around 4000 rpm in 4th or 5th gear on the highway. Sometimes its loud enough to drown out the engine sound. Hopefully the Acura service department can figure it out next time I take the car in for servicing.

Could it be the cover for the ECU?
Friend of mine had the same noise and it was coming from the cover of the ECU.
Dealer took care of the problem.

I don't know about the NSX, but among the MR2 community, Redline MT-90 comes highly recommended to help combat and prevent rough shifting. I have personally seen this stuff turn a 190,000 mile worn out crunchalot MR2 transaxle into a brand-new-feeling unit. It's amazing stuff in the MR2s.

I would definitely recommend changing the transaxle fluid. You may want to look into this MT-90 and see if it is the right stuff for the NSX. If it is, it should cure your problem [unless the NSX synchros are notoriously weak].

I am getting the same rattle behind the dash (radio area). It does this at idle and when the car is running. What's causing this? Other people have seemed to have migrated from the dash to the window behind the passenger seat. Mine is coming directly from the dash.

Sounds like it might be the very common problem with the aspirator fan. Go to the section in the FAQ called "What's that NOISE???" and scroll down to the title "What's That Buzzing Sound From The Console?".
