Well, it has gotten colder here in Louisiana. Going from about 32-50 degres each day. While my brake pads were fine at NSXPO, they squealing like Crazy at slow stopping speeds!! It is driving me nuts! I have the feroto DS2500 and axis ultimate in the rear. Anyone got any tips on how I can make this stop??

Go to your favorite auto parts store and get a tube (or bottle which will last forever) or brake quiet, or caliper grease, etc. There are about 7 different brands out there, just ask someone in the store. Apply this thick greasy stuff to the BACK of the pad and the pad side of the shim. It should help tremendously. Tracking the car in TX burned (or melted, actually) any grease that was already there, and now you are back to metal/metal contact. Any further high heat braking activity will re-create the problem, just reapply as necessary. Hope this helps.

p.s. Also check your rotors. If there is a small raised lip around the perimeter of the rotors, then that will also cause the noise, although it is usually more of a chirp than a squeek, and will have to be machined out to make it go away.

Just so you don't feel bad my ferrodo 3000 pads have the most excruciating cold squeal I've experienced so far,but they don't grind away the rotors like the hawk blues did.The above poster is correct, add more anti-squeal goop.

Since you have to take off your pads anyway, get a set of stock pads (or use your old) and switch back and forth depending on the climate/track days. This will be much safer- incase you need to stop quickly before you put heat into them. Also lets your $$$ track pads last longer.
