I tagged a deer yesterday and it looks like I get a new nose out of the deal. I don't have the money to update to the 2002 lights right now, but...

will the new 2002 nose fit without changing the pop-up headlights?

Ken,

That's what you get for outrunning your headlights again!!! Sorry to hear about your mishap, but that'll teach that deer to play in the street.

BTW, when is the invitation for dinner? I heard that you have venison on the bar-b.

Don't forget that there are no combo lights on the 02 front bumper, so even if you can make it fit, you will have no auxiliary or turn signal lights unless you incorporate the complete headlight assemblies.
For reference:

If you decide to return with the stock option get the parts from Eric @ Niello - its right at ~ $1000 for top cover & middle section with 30% discount through NSXCA. $116 each after discount for the combo lights if they got trashed & ~$20 for the tow-hook cover. You can go with stock lip at that point or, as in my case, WW from Dali at $210.
P.S. Sorry, I overlooked the commiserations in my last post - sorry to hear of your misfortune.

The fenders too? I didn't think they had retooled that much for the 2002. I guess I'll just have to settle for the "old school" version.

BTW, the damage was pretty minimal to the car. The deer had been hit a "few" times before I got to it so all that was left for me was a pile of baby back ribs, a couple of legs and a flank steak or two all jumbled into a pile about a foot and a half high. I drove straight over it at about 50 mph. My biggest problem is that now the car does smell a little like a barbecue. My mouth waters just thinking about it!

You may wish to consider an aftermarket bumper as the price for the factory vs. aftermarket is about the same for many of the versions out there.

Cheers,
-- Chris

My understanding is that you can make a minor modification to the fenders to accept the later lights, so you don't necessarily have to replace them.
Still an expensive proposition with lights, hood & bumper parts however.

Chris, I don't think I want to sway too far from the OEM look. I trashed a WW lip in the bloodletting. Is there a front that you recommend?

An alternative is to use the stock upper and aftermarket lower like this:

Since you suggestion for aftermarket was based on above rationale (i.e. price) I would contest that the suggestion in your response fits that theme: still have to invest the $672 for upper cover & I seriously doubt if the lower one-piece can compete with $253 for stock lower plus either $100 for stock lip or $210 for WW for example. (approx. prices referenced are Niello or Dali as appropriate)
Also consider that FG is not at all forgiving relative to Urethane parts - in the extreme case like yours above, Ken, not much difference, but in a minor tap against a parking stop for example, bye-bye FG!!

D'Ecosse, i like the Style kit you mentioned. And thanks for reading my post, the price point is a real strong factor (since my divorce reaming).

Where is the Style nose available?

The only time I've seen it is in the post mentioned by Trond - the website is http://www.styleauto.de/ but the links for the NSX don't give pics of it. They are in Germany. Best bet, just e-mail them for details [email protected] (Michael Neumann)Ask them what city they're in - I'll be in East Germany, (Berlin, Dresden) in 2 weeks so if they're not too far away might check them out)

I tried that link and got the same results. If I knew their pricing, that would be the front treatment for me. I'll try emailing them, then if that doesn't work, maybe I'll have you try to fit a nose in the overhead for me on your flight home.
