broken axel

Remember, members of the NSX Club of America get discounts on parts and service at some dealerships, including seven dealers in Florida. The discount on an axle can more than pay for your membership dues. The Florida Chapter, in particular, has a lot of activities - its website is here.

Smoore, it wouldn't have anything to do with all that NoS would it??

Good luck!
Also I remember awhile back someone building
custom axles for high HP output.
Weren't they working on this problem with the 500 hp cars that were going to the strip for 1/4 times?
Lud, can you address this for me? Thanks.

yeah that was the cause, i found them used for $200 so that should work. what i don't understand is why my rear right tire still has a huge negative camber, i mean the brand new tire was destroyed in 2 hours of interstate driving and the axel has nothing to do with that. as for the nitrous i wasn't spraying the car then or was i beating on it, heck the clutch is still slipping so it not even like i'm putting all the horses to the ground anyway. i did hear a slight clicking but was thinking that was because i didn't put the clips on the rear brake pads (i forgot) and thought that was wear the click was coming from.

Did someone check the suspension and ball joints very carefully. It may be that something there broke, resulting in severe negative camber, and that the same time hyper-extending the CV joint and killing it.

Just a thought. Always tough to diagnose without being there.

BTW, make sure you get the correct side as they are different left & right. Also tell them you don't want one of a car that had damage to that corner. Even without bending one, a side impact such as sliding sideways into a curb can damage the Teflon (nylon?) button that the end of the shaft rides on, and a harder hit can damage bearings etc inside.
