What is a DIM Cable? Please help!

Just purchased a used factory CD changer and bracket for a 91 through the nsxprime website, but found out after I received it, that it is missing the DIM Cable and the "L shaped" piece or left mounting bracket. I am told it doesn't work without the DIM Cable that is supposed to come with the bracket.

What does the DIM Cable look like and does anybody know how I can get these parts separately? They don't sell them alone at the dealer.

Also, is there a way to get around the left mounting bracket or puchase by itself? Please advise.

I don't believe the cable you are looking for is called a DIM cable, I think what you are looking for is the DIN cable. You kind find more about this here.
Hope this helps

You can get a Din cable at any car stero shop. Just make sure its long enough.
I would look around in your trunk a little bit better I think it comes from the factory
pre wired for a changer.

I thought it was pre-wired from the factory too, but they said it wasn't, so I looked myself and found the wire that goes to the changer. However, it is a coaxial cable and doesn't have the adapter to fit into the stock cd changer.

What kind of DIN adapter to I need to put the coaxial cable into so it fits the multi pin wire coming from the changer itself?

jlindy,

The coax cable is not related to the CD changer. It is part of the NSX factory phone hook up. I suspect if not installed now, at one time your car had the NSX phone installed.

If there is little sign of it, then they took the antenna off, and probably left the cable from the trunk to the engine bay.

Please explain Larry, because I am having problems with the Antennae reception as well. The coaxial is sitting there going to nothing. How does that relate to the Antannae?

Are you having trouble with radio reception or the factory cell phone? The coax cable Larry mentioned is for the cell phone, not radio. Does that help or did I confuse things worse?

Poor reception for the radio, I don't have the cell phone. They replaced my mast, but say I may have a bad lead and need to get that replaced. I didn't think a lead could go bad, but I have no idea.

Regardless, Acura says they can find the DIN cable for the changer and I only see the phone wire. Nobody sells these cables alone, and I don't want to risk frying my system with a wrong cable.
