I received an email yesturday from the Players Run inquiring if I wanted to participate with my NSX. I sent in some information about my car and they called me last night to tell me that I have been accepted to participate. Has anyone on this board done something like this before?
You can check out more information on their website at www.playersrun.net

I wish I could afford $7,500 entry fee

this looks like something like the gumball3000...I would go for it if I had the $$...

have any of you guys seen that Mischeif3000 video? wow- that is some great footage- great cars too! I recommend everyone one to try and see it...

5inchfatlip,
Where can you get this video? I would love to check it out. It is just like the Gumball. They called me last night and told me that E is doing 5 hours worth of video from a helicopter. They will have a special on the race televised.

NSXlover- get the video at www.bestbuy.com- its only $13.00 and called Mischief 3000...goto www.teckademics.com for a trailer!!! I've watched it twice, and my GF even watched it with me and wants to do it oneday...its great footage and some awesome cars that are actually driving not just sitting in a showroom.....I didnt see one NSX though..so you have to do this one!

O-Ace- thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out today..

id only do it if you were planning to get a paintjob after, the ferraris after gumball look like someone just stripped the paint of the front bumper with sand paper

Few months ago I applied and was "accepted." Corresponded via email with them for a while, and eventually I got an actual invitation in the mail with literature / pamphlets / etc.

I think one of the guys even called me, but I never spoke to them.

Looks like good times, but I declined the invitation due to other obligations.

nsxlover, I highly rec that you buy the gumball rally (mischief dvd's) it looks like a blast if you dont mind totally and I mean totally thrashing your ride.got your motor back?
best regards david

Right - but why aren't the sponsors covering the costs?

It seems funny that someone got "invited" to give them $7500 after filling out an application on a website. Trust me... they need all the $7500 entry fees they can get. This smacks of having a false air of exclusivity about it. Seems like the only thing that one needs to drive in this event is a fat wallet.

I agree, never having heard of it before (not that means its not legit, just I don't have anything else to base my opinions on other than the website) it seems to me like somebody hit upon the great idea of milking some spare change from owners of exotic cars who theoretically have got money to burn and ego to match, making them excellent marks...

I went on the Players Run this year and it was the most fun I have ever had. Definitely worth the $$$. Everyone on the run got along great and now we all have some amazing stories to tell. It was very well organized and put together. There were some guys there who had done the GumBall and said this was put together better and was more enjoyable. The Players Run is more luxurious than the gumball by far! If you can afford to do it you should...

Girls never pay in these kinda of events.
More like eye candy for the other drivers and such.

ParisModel, how much did you pay to attend this event?

Silly rabbit! Girls don't pay to have fun! Why should we if we don't have to? LOL

I was thinking of posting the same thing! What the heck are sponsors for. Sounds a lot like the drivers are sponsoring their own way. My gawd - $7,500.00. WOW
