'Twas the night before NSXMAS

'Twas the night before NSXMAS and all through the land,
Not an NSX owner was sleeping, not even in Japan;
Their stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that go-fast parts soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of VTEC cams danced in their heads.
My NSX was in the garage with a fresh coat of wax,
And I'd settled at the computer to update the FAQs.

When out from the street there was a VROOM and a shudder,
I sprang from the keyboard to see what was the matter.
Rushing downstairs I switched on the porch light,
Then ran out the door and peered into the night.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
Not a sleigh but an NSX - that sports car premier.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
As rapid as an eagle down the street his car came,
When asked about mods he called them by name;

"Now, COMPTECH! now, EIBACH! now, K&N and DALI!
On, GRUPPE M! on BREMBO! on, RM and KONI!
I raced an Elf in a Porsche, drove him into the wall!
Haven't found a new Ferrari to race; they're under recall."

The synchros meshed and the gears began turning,
Old Mr. Kringle smiled as his tires started burning.
From driveway to driveway the red NSX flew,
The car stuffed full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

Then rounding an apex he arrived at my home,
Tires screeching and smoking on wheels of bright chrome.
The engine rumbled fiercly, the exhaust rattled my teeth,
On the front he had a custom emblem shaped like a wreath!

He was dressed all in Nomex, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with brake dust and soot;
A bundle of goodies flung on his back, he was ready to go,
So much cool stuff he looked like a vendor from NSXPO.

Polished shift knobs -- how they sparkle! Special wax from Zymol!
Fitted luggage and a Smartenna - more than enough to enthrall!
He even had a Kyosho model NSX Type S-Zero,
This man with the white beard, he was truly my hero.

But the real treat was a blower to make my car fast,
The supercharger was true love; I knew it would last.
A hundred more horsepower should give it a kick,
And the whirring at full throttle sounds really trick.

One more time he searched through his sack,
And pulled out the final thing I wantedf for the track.
A "big brake kit" upgrade for each wheel on the car,
To keep my stopping distances from growing too far.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
Installing my new mods and adjusting the torque.
Then laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his NSX, turned the key so it would start,
Blipped the throttle, dropped the clutch and did quickly depart
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"HAPPY NSXMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"

I'm bringing this thread back from last year! Sorry I didn't have the spare time or braincells to do a new one for this year. Hopefully some of the newer folks haven't seen it before. I promise I do not inflict my attempts at creative writing on members here very often, but at least it's NSX related.

Happy holidays to everyone!

thanks for bringing this back...

and thanks, Lud, for all you do for the NSX community in providing this site. Happy Holidays to all!
