Brake fluid leak during storage help

Ok here's the facts and story... I just pulled the car out of storage about an hour ago. I have not driven it, started it, nothing for 5 months. It has never leaked a drop of anything before that I have seen. The car has 24,000 miles on it and I have owned it since about 13,500. It was stored in a storage bubble in a non heated garage. When I deflated the bubble I noticed that there was about 2 to 3 ounces of brake fluid on the floor mat directly under the reservior that is on the drivers side closest to the front of the car (abs piece maybe). It appears to have come out the top of the cap area. The reservior looked completely full before I started the car, but dropped down to normal levels (with no additional leaking) once I started the car. Any clues or help are appriciated, thanks in advance.

It appears from your post that the fluid level was full before starting, then settled a bit after starting. From this (and the leak) it sounds like the ABS pump may have come on at start up and pressuized the (already full) fluid container, causing the leak. I would drive the car at moderate speed and make sure the brakes function, then find a wet/gravel road and invoke the ABS. If the ABS works properly and the pump runs to re-pressurize the system without leaking you are good to go. But if the ABS is not working or if running the pump causes more brake fluid to leak out you had better investigate or get the car to a knowledgable technician.

It is at the max line now (which is where it usually sits). When I looked at it the car had not been started yet but a friend was in the car with his foot on the brakes getting ready to start it (I was going for the battery when I noticed it). Does that help any?
