OOOOOOhhhhh Ya I'd have to say those are one of the best looking aftermarket wheels out there. How much did they set you back $$$$$$?

Very very nice...

those advans look huge for 17/18...

hey guys, are advans and avs same brands? because i always thought those were avs.

Those are definately sharp! The 7's or the techno's are the two at the top of my list. However, my biggest concern with aftermarket wheels is the weight. I really do not want to give up any acceleration to the additional weight. How do the 7's weight in and who retails them??

They really look clean & very solid..exc choice!

Thanks everyone!

Jay: Gun metallic looks awesome on a silver car, maybe a black car, but usually doesn't look that good on a red one. NSEX has gun metallics on his silver NSX & it looks great.

Sonik: I think the Model 5 is ok but prefer the 7. There's a couple other rims out there that have the look of the 5 but which might be easier/cheaper to come by.

286: Yes, the "long" title would be "Yokohama AVS Advan 7". AVS I guess is a line of rims, of which the Advan 7 is one of the models.

Dman: The whole set (17x8/18x10) cost around the $2200 mark.

Lee: The weight is similar to the Techno's. About 19 lbs for the fronts, and high-22 lbs for the rears. Be sure to go with 285/30's instead of the 275-285 35 series (that many people go with) so you don't lose gearing/acceleration.

For those who are serious about buying, Vic at Discount Tire (aka D1 Motorsports, http://www.d1motorsports.com/ ) gave me a fantastic deal and can give great deals for most rims, particularly the expensive/Japanese stuff. He has a huge array of styles/brands but only shows a few on the web page. Contact info is on the web page.

ITS ABOUT TIME MARC, I didn't think you would ever put up the pics. Car looks good, paint looks perfect, looks like no chips. Hey Marc, can you believe I am still waiting for my 19'' wheels from Vic. We order our wheels at the same time. It is going to be 3 months!!!!! Later

Marc,

Any rubbing with this beautiful setup?

Thx,

Hey SpeedDemon it looks great! I have a question, what offset are you running up front?

I have 17 X 8s up front and I was thinking about going to a 225/4017 instead of my 215/40 and was curious what your offset was?

Any rubbing up front???

Jeff: That's the problem with ordering Japanese wheels that are out-of-stock in the US! Shoulda gone with the 17/18's!

But I admit the fronts would look better with 18's.

Chris: The camera is an Olympus C-3000Z. I can't say enough about the camera, its picture quality, feature set, and size/shape are excellent. Very good bang-per-buck. The pics you are looking at were actually quality-reduced to keep the filesize small. (If you want more info, drop me an email).

Nick: No rubbing. Have gone over large dips in the freeway at 80mph, and full lock left/right is rub-free as well.

Am very happy with the tire combo, it's perfect for TCS, the overall diameters are the same or smaller than stock so you don't lose any performance, and the 285 N2 is a really wide tire made of super-glue

I'm pretty sure the offset is 45 front and rear.

225/40? Unfortunately I think you'll find that almost no one makes a good performance tire in that size. (I hope I'm wrong but several months ago when I checked, that was the case).

I have an Olympus C-3030Z which is basically the same camera and I am also very happy with the image quality and feature set.
