This Friday was Laguna Seca with the Shelby Club. It was also the weekend that I got to see my new roll bar:

And one of the first delivered GT500 hoods finally painted and installed:

After some difficulties in handling due to tire pressure with my new street tire setup and shock settings, I was able to get in a few great afternoon runs including this bought with a Z06 and a pesky Mustang (overpowered, underhandled) that would not let us by.

I'm very happy with the new street setup (old style Tecnomagnesio with Bridgestone S03 235/40zr17, 275/35zr18). The whole weekend I experienced no rubbing either at lock or at speed in high-g corners.

Nice pics Chris.

What was the temperature at LS, I had problems with my oem yoko tires in January when the temoreture was around 40-50 with humidity in the air. Grip for many was pretty bad till around noon when there was enough rubber and warmer temp mid 50s on the high.

Also, did you notice your oil pressure gauge dropping after some turns or the straights ..........

The cooler temp did affect how long the tires took to warm up, but the S03's seem to kick but at even low temps. The handling problems were my fault. I forgot to reset the valving on the TEINs. I also forgot to lower the tire pressures. After I lowered them to 24/29, handling was much better. They could have probably been set lower based on the wear I was seeing, but I didn't have time to monkey with settings.

very cool, it is interesting to see a corvette with a nsx, really makes me appreciate the nsx every time. much better looking car.

hey, tell me more about the louvered hood. saw it on your website. really like the looks of it.

have you seen one on a black nsx yet? im interested in doing this.

The Z06 and I were on street tires. The BaschBoost was disconnected having the new fuel system installed, so he had a 150+ HP gain on me. I think only my lower weight, brakes, and suspension allowed me to hang with him. The Mustang is only in front because he wouldn't let us pass after 3 laps (we were keeping our distance as his rear end got light in the corners).

Huckster - what do you have as far as questions? One of the carbon units is on two black NSXes now, however, I do not have pictures yet.

vegasnsx - sorry, I didn't time my sessions. :-( No time to setup the HotLap timer unfortunately.

Chris, how do you think you would've fared against the Z06 had your supercharger been hooked up?

BTW, I agree the NSX looks much better than the Vette. Didn't realize how much bigger the Vette was.

Advantage would definitely been in my favor.

Z06:
340 RWHP (est)
3116 lbs
HP/LBS: .109

pre-supercharger
265 RWHP (est)
2780 lbs
HP/LBS: .095

post-supercharger
380 RWHP
2780 lbs
HP/LBS: .137

Regards,

I am still amazed at the amount of rwhp the BBSC is capable of producing.
